Something good is happening at this World Cup. The Scots turned up. The English turned up. The Norwegians turned up. They sang their songs, got stuck in, and the Americans loved them for it. Glasgow and Boston are getting twinned off the back of it. For 30 years we’ve been told to view the US as some sort of Great Satan — all imperialism and orange-man clichés. Not everyone buys it of course, but enough do. And then Europeans actually go, and find a place that feels familiar. Makes sense to them. A bit richer, a bit further ahead, but recognisably ours. Settled by Europeans, still deeply European in its bones. There’s a gathering-of-the-clans feeling to it. Friends, I could use some prayers and well wishes today. Giving my 2 weeks notice at my 3rd job(my M-F FT). I don’t deal well with change but with my Dad just diagnosed with early Alzheimer’s and me having to take over the responsibilities for my sister who is Special Needs that would be a lot. Especially since I am also a School Board member and am here on X. But I also have a major surgery scheduled for August which is out of state where I will have to stay for 11 days and then recovery will be at least 6 weeks. I am trying to get in the best shape so that recovery is easier. Anyways, thank you in advance for keeping me in your thoughts today. Love you, Michelle 😘 PS- I am so unbelievably grateful I had this job. It helped me pay off about $38K of debt and get a newer used car. Having 3 jobs has been tough but being DEBT FREE is so worth it!!!

I have those holes on every shirt I own. I searched for screws or nails in the washer (blaming hubby for pocket junk😬) for years and then saw it in action one day, the counter edge marks on a particular cotton blend. I always wondered why it was only my shirts but makes sense because my husband has really long legs. His beltline is above most counter heights. Was baffling 😂
