It’s hard to think of a better way to kick off a trip to England’s Golf Coast than what we experienced today at @Hillside_GC. The weather was great, the welcome was warm, the course was in fantastic condition. A bucket list day!

I’m planning my first trip to the SW of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 later this year. It’s a gaping hole in my British golf résumé. Does anyone have general tips or recommendations on good towns to stay in and places to sleep/eat/drink?! Favourite golf? I’ll share it all after the trip in a blog. Thx.

Many of you will remember the loss of Belle at the start of COVID ; then the pregnancy with Penelope. Which was the equivalent of skating on thin ice (18 scans for Katie on her own, due to various restrictions). She landed safe and sound back in February 2021. She’s our precious Peg but for a while now, we’ve suspected (given our experience already..) that something wasn’t as it should be. A couple of weeks ago, we trooped over for the saddest / most Informative hour for her ADOS assessment (after a 3 hour ADI assessment) to see if she has Autism. The news came back today that indeed, she does have autism (no doubt..) and will need a specialist education setting too.. 🙁 It’s hard news to bear for anyone, but for the reasons above, well, it seems somewhat cruel. She has more severe needs than we could have imagined….. But she’ll be ok with us. If you see her pulling things from the shelves and hanging out of the trolley, please bear with us…. She doesn’t mean any harm.

@ianmcinally1 I’m hoping to have all of the new ones written up and published on my website quite soon. Ballyneal was a big surprise as I didn’t know too much about it before and loved it. But so many to choose from!

@ukgolfguy That’s a great effort. Assuming you played some course multiples times do you have a number for total number of rounds played?

That’s another year on the books for me, I ended up playing 82 different courses in 2023 Thanks for everyone who has followed along on Twitter and commented, liked or retweeted. Your support is much appreciated. I’m not sure I’ll beat 82 courses in 2024 but will give it a go!

I’ve made it from St Andrews to Aberdeen! Some awful weather, some gorgeous days. Thanks for all of the amazing support, it means a lot. I’ll do the final fundraising total when the auction closes on Saturday. In summary: 265,324 steps 129 miles 2 toenails almost gone 😬

The first day of my charity walk. I played the Strathyrum course at @TheHomeofGolf . Played in 1 hour 45 minutes and got 42 points! You can see some footage of the course below. Then I walked to @scotscraig 35,425 steps/19 miles in total and safe to say I’m a little sore!

If the scores are level after 80 minutes… 20 minutes of extra time. If they’re still level… 10 more minutes of golden score extra time. If they’re still level... Penalty kicks along the 22. Hold on to your hats.
