Scaled down to 3 is 4% of ???
Then multiplied by 25

Do you know a LGBTQ+ high school student with an interest in math?
Send them this tweet ASAP so they can apply for our virtual "Camp” of Mathematical Queeries today. Applications are due tomorrow, and applying only takes 10 minutes.

@mr_a_squared This is great, mine have been putting “listo!” I’m going to show them this 😂

One of the unintended outcomes of @pgliljedahl #thinkingclassroom is students suggesting how we could rearrange the classroom to better fit the activity. They went to work rearranging tables and it was cool to see them take ownership of the space & make it work for them 💛

Thank you so much for sharing, Megan!
I wonder if students can now tell whether it's linear or quadratic based on just the patterns themselves (w/o building out the x/y table or graphing). What do they notice?

I am so darn proud of my students today. They used @fawnpnguyen visual patterns to show similarities and differences between linear and quadratic relationships 🤯

@MoniseLSeward The whiskey river bbq wrap is bomb. Fries are gross but the onion rings are usually good.

@MoniseLSeward Thank you @HetlandScience for showing me the magnetic hooks! They were a game changer

@robertkaplinsky @openmiddle Not necessarily my favorite reason, but I do tend to challenge the questions I’m giving students by asking myself “is this google-able” and Open Middle always passes that test.
English

An educator just told me that even though they find @openmiddle problems engaging mathematically, their favorite reason for using them is that you couldn't Google the answers. That caught me off guard. Anyone else feel similarly?

@CarlaAmplify I didn’t use a pre-built activity, in activity builder you can add a polypad. Then students clicked “algebra” and “algebra tiles” from the menu. So I displayed expressions and they created them on their screens.

@CherishToday08 I’ve tried so many different brands and this one does not bother my asthma or the students’. The plug also lets you control the output, so the lightest setting is perfect.

English

#teachertwitter does anyone use a plug in air freshener at school? If so, what is your preferred scent and brand? Looking for one not overwhelming…

@flyingmonkey13 I wish that walk throughs and observations were treated as collaboration. That it felt safe and a place to try new things and grow. Often it feels punitive and like a trap. I don’t want to pull out a special lesson I want helpful feedback on the everyday stuff
