James Talarico calls out “the groups” in the Democratic Party on immigration. “In recent years there’ve been a series of advocacy groups that claim to represent the interests of different communities like here in Texas, but actually have no real connection to the actual people on the ground. And those groups convinced the [Biden] administration that it was racist to support border security.” x.com/ElectTheBench/…

@jarvis_best I really like the work that Richard Poe did on his other books. But Julia Whelan in Stella Maris - I've never seen a character brought so vividly to life. Oscar-worthy.

@MattBraynard I love audio books and these were both narrated very well. Eduardo Ballerini is a magician.

I'm someone who places millions in media buys every election cycle. What happened here is criminal and should be investigated by the @DOJ. The commissions the federal government pays for media placement should be zero. All placement should be done by a handful of inhouse staff at zero; it requires very little work or expertise and compensation should absolutely not scale with the amount spent.

@jarvis_best The audiobook version defeated me. "The Passenger" was the first CM book I ever read and decided I didn't want to read another. And then I read Stellar Maris. By the way, I went through the audiobook versions; they were like nothing else.

As long as folks are talking about Cormac McCarthy let me tell you this is a top 2-3 all time novel for me.

@sahilkapur @MondaireJones Talarico is right. When Kamala Harris gave the most gentle, compassionate warning that maybe migrants shouldn't trek on foot to the U.S. and make themselves easy targets for human traffickers, loads of immigrant rights activists said she was no better than Trump.

@MattBraynard @TheWyattJames_ @GabeGuidarini Could you elaborate on how Nicks comments related to introductions regarding you, himself & Joe Kent could possibly lead to you being deprived of making a livelihood? Genuine question.

In 2015, Disney called 250 IT workers into a meeting. They thought they were getting bonuses. Disney told them they were being replaced by workers flown in from India on H-1B visas, and if they didn't spend the next 90 days training those replacements, they'd lose their severance. Leo Perrero testified before Congress about it. Appeared on 60 Minutes. "Someone was flown in from another country to sit at my same desk and take over what I was doing. It was the most humiliating thing I've ever gone through in my life." Two workers sued Disney, HCL, and Cognizant for colluding to illegally displace American workers. Courts dismissed it. @HMBohemond Very true. Releasing a work of art into the world is like having a child reach 18 and go out into the world.

What Herbert and Villeneuve intended with their work is irrelevant because that's not what their work said. Authorial intent has limits when the text is finally presented. Don't write a hero then say, "Actually he's the villain." It doesn't work that way.

As someone who worked at Reality Labs: the Metaverse had real legs but was obliterated by middle management completely out of touch with how young people actually use technology. I built a V1 tool that game developers genuinely needed, and the moment it was done, it got shipped to a team in London (to die), and I was reassigned to a "higher-priority project" that zero developers asked for. Multiply that by every team, and you'll understand why this never took off yet cost 80 billion.

JUST IN: Meta announces they'll be shutting down the Metaverse, after pouring $80,000,000,000.00 into the project.

"I'm not saying this led to that" seems pretty clear to me. Can you not acknowledge that the #1 political activist might also be subject to the attention of foreign powers from any number of countries around the time of his assassination that had nothing to do with his assassination but are worthy of ODNI attention?

@MattBraynard @GabeGuidarini "Kent didn't say anything contrary to that, and went to pains to clarify he wasn't saying anything contrary to that." I don't agree with this analysis after watching that clip. He seems to be very clearly hinting at a larger conspiracy.

Because he allowed a guest to come on his show - tell a lie about me that could eventually destroy my livelihood - a lie Tucker knows is a lie - and refused to let me correct the record or correct the record himself. And when I reached out directly and through lawyers, I had to pitch a whole show with me as a guest, and apparently none of the topics I pitched to him were worthwhile because they wouldn't get enough views to justify it. So to him, my life and my ability to provide for my family is just collateral damage while he talks about space aliens and demons, etc. x.com/joekent16jan19…

Yes, I believe: A leftist freak killed Charlie and acted on his own. Kent didn't say anything contrary to that, and went to pains to clarify he wasn't saying anything contrary to that. What I believe Joe may have been alluding to is that, unrelated to his murder, Charlie may have been the subject of other special international attention and that would have been something squarely within the purview of the ODNI to take a look at. That's another way to interpret what Kent is getting at. You don't have to agree with Kent's argument to agree with the above. I'm not even saying I agree or disagree with Kent's position on Iran, but Kent is 100% sincere and is a patriot. And while we're on the subject of what I believe: Tucker is a reckless garbage human and a nutcase (and Mark Levin is a garbage human, too.) Be grateful you don't know these clowns well enough to have that opinion.

Can you at least acknowledge that a leftist freak with a transgender boyfriend killed Charlie Kirk? I admire your defense of your former client. I like Joe, and I like Tucker too. But why stoop down to this level in absence of all evidence? This is not an earnest argument but rather ammunition (unwittingly or not) handed to the same people intent on discrediting Joe before the masses. It helps no one.
