@hugheselem Kindergarten and our amazing chaperones had the very best time at the Dallas Zoo! Next week we will be using our experience for our personal narrative writing focus!
I had the very best time team teaching with @TanyaSpencer710 during our library visit! We were able to utilize the large map of Texas to practice our spatial vocabulary that we have been learning in Social Studies! @hugheselem@PISD_Libraries
We have the best PTO @hugheselem 💙 You can always count on them to take an idea and run with it! Such a fun time preparing a birthday [almost] surprise for @MrsRoberdsEDU
What a fun way to wrap up the first 9 weeks of Kindergarten! Our students edited writing, practiced movement vocabulary, and voted! Of course, no quarter is complete without a little organized chaos from our team for Principal’s Month 💙 We love you, @MrsRoberdsEDU! @hugheselem
Calhoun EC and Hughes ES staff teaming up to prepare smooth transitions for students entering kindergarten next year! Their thoughtful collaboration ensures each student’s plan is ready to meet their individual needs, setting them up for success from day one. #BetterTogether
Last week our @hugheselem Kindergarteners dove into composing and decomposing numbers with hands-on activities that modeled number relationships and inspired students to explain their thinking, share strategies, and collaborate with peers! 💙
Together, we champion a lifelong love of reading. On International Literacy Day, kindergarten students at Hughes Elementary are growing their reading endurance and discovering the joy of books. These young learners are building a strong foundation for a brighter future.
“Bug and a wish” is a great strategy for students needing a structure to communicate in conflict.
For my Kinder student, it sounds like: “It bugs me when you grab my crayons. I wish you would ask first.”
