@MemeStrider Problem is that the style makes it hard to rewatch (I have not rewatched it) or even to recommend.

It's a strange one. I appreciated his fidelity to the story. Generally I enjoyed the movie. However, I thought it was a very poor movie. If he hadn't done the tryptic style of telling the story and just told the story normally, would have been 10x better. I don't think the different povs added anything and all of that time could have been used to flush out events better. An unfortunate whiff, which I enjoyed watching.

@Centurion6246 It has, as is intended, heroic connotations. Impactful does not. Dweebs try to conflate the two but I am not going to let them.

@MemoryMedieval When I taught writing I tried to get my students to pack as much meaning into as few syllables as possible. "Great" is more broad than "impactful" but also somehow hits harder also.

If "Great" in GREAT MAN means "Impactful"... how come we don't have any rulers who come down to us as "So-and-so The Impactful"? Reddit dweebs please help

@MemoryMedieval For the Latin west, the 4th-6thC equipment is less cool than 1st-2ndC. Its obvious from helmet design. Its why for example Vegetius looks backwards for 'reforms'.
