@_taylor_TJ @BetterCallBroom @Nanomachines999 @Nicholai_Korea @kangminlee classical soteriology quite literally was founded on an objection to “once saved always saved”

@BetterCallBroom @Nanomachines999 @Nicholai_Korea @kangminlee Even the Holiness Movement of the Methodists and Pentecostals was quite literally founded on an objection to “once saved always saved.”

The problem with modern Christianity is they think everything centers around a testimony when then centers around a specific moment when you were "saved" which is just not how it works. Salvation is an ongoing process and thus needs to be treated with immense seriousness.

I am legit going to be sharing my testimony in solidarity, but also because sharing our testimonies is something God calls us to do. To the Pharisees who used a single post to reveal how easily they are sifted like wheat and that they lack biblical understandings/ the call to openly share testimonies that are meant to uplift and encourage men and women in and out of the church, shame on you. I hope you come to truly know the biblical Christ, not your opinionated build-a-bear version of Him that was concocted in your minds.

@MercurialMulder the problem with lutherans is that they have no balls

@Methodist_Prime @SojournerEcc @freemarketeer1 john wesley was one of the greatest patristics scholars of all time
English

@SojournerEcc @freemarketeer1 Yeah, the Eastern Church Fathers influenced Wesley a ton in his vision of holiness (think like his doctrine of entire sanctification), spiritual growth, and the nature of salvation, but obviously he kept an Anglican framework
English

@ToubabPreacher @freemarketeer1 if you’re going to be a tradcath wesleyan, then you must reject phoebe palmer and her “methodism” as heretical innovation
English

@freemarketeer1 And primed to be Pentecostal. Almost there.

@FeelsGuy2003 Americans don't know this but Christianity (soon even cultural Christianity) is pretty much dead in all it's forms in North-Western Europe and parts of Central Europe (except for foreigners).

The end of theological liberalism is the denial of God altogether.
Templarpilled@Templarpilled
This is how a Protestant church was renovated in Germany
English

@FeelsGuy2003 i too am theologically liberal, but only in the sense that the battle hardened rinzai shogun did not need a christian priest in order to seek for the salvation of his soul
English

@ElijahForCA but would you agree that it was once possible to have reformed the latin church from within?
English

This is the most disgusting lie ever told

@GerhardsGhost Tbh, I have never heard of the guy for the 9th century so I just skipped him
English

We put a literal heretic for 9th century but somehow our hot take was bach for 18th according to the comments. Bach gives the melodies and harmonies of heaven an earthly expression.
