@Mock43754040 @MilesTaylorUSA Lady, you and your MAGA friends are in a giant cult. You all need deprogramming.
English

@MilesTaylorUSA You are not fucking taking away the votes of 78 million Americans...You just are not!
Anyone protecting the evil regime in Iran has got to be one brick shy of a load. They are the same people protecting criminal illegal aliens...What is it with you people?
English

@Westfie84677955 @ExploreCosmos_ Again. What are your qualifications?
English

@MiserableAcade1 @ExploreCosmos_ Masters and doctorates are generally considered postgraduate

Astronomers may be getting closer than ever to directly detecting the universe’s very first stars, not by seeing them individually, but by identifying their fingerprints in extremely distant galaxies observed with the JWST.
These first-generation stars, known as Population III stars, are thought to have formed a few hundred million years after the Big Bang from pristine hydrogen and helium, before any heavier elements existed. Because of that, they would have been very different from stars today, likely more massive, hotter, and short-lived, and responsible for producing the first heavy elements that later seeded galaxies, planets, and ultimately life.
The new observations focus on unusual spectral signatures, particularly emissions linked to highly energetic processes, that don’t fit well with normal stellar populations. One key clue is the presence of ionized helium, which requires extremely intense radiation to produce, suggesting the influence of stars far hotter and more massive than those typically seen in later cosmic epochs.
Instead of resolving these stars directly, astronomers are effectively inferring their existence through the way they shape the light of their host galaxies, offering a kind of indirect but powerful evidence that these primordial objects may finally be within observational reach.
What makes this significant is that, until now, the first stars have remained entirely theoretical. They are expected to have lived fast and died young, leaving behind only subtle chemical and radiative traces. If confirmed, these detections would open a direct observational window into the so-called cosmic dawn, the transition from a dark, simple universe filled mostly with neutral hydrogen to one lit up by the first sources of light.
This phase also triggered processes like reionization, fundamentally altering the state of the intergalactic medium and shaping the formation of the first galaxies.
However, the interpretation is still cautious. Alternative explanations, such as unusual stellar populations or accreting black holes, could mimic some of the observed signals, so further data will be needed to confirm whether these are truly the long-sought Population III stars. Even so, the fact that we are now able to probe this epoch at all marks a substantial shift: for the first time, the earliest chapter of star formation is moving from theoretical modeling into observational astrophysics, narrowing the gap between predictions and direct evidence.

@FeistyLibLady @LongTimeHistory I don’t care about his MAGAt feelings. I just wanna know if he’s gonna vote for Trump again or not. There’s a lot riding on it.
English

"I really didn't learn a whole lot more about Iran than I already knew. I didn't learn anything about the goal of the Iran war."
Even a veteran who was a 3-time Trump voter is unhappy and confused about Trump's illegal war in Iran and his goal.
Most Americans feel the exact same way.

I have a question. If the earth is flat, how can the moon be a sphere?
Harrumph. No one listens to me.
FOFOQUEI@fofoquei
Simplesmente de outro mundo! 🌕 Nova imagem da Lua divulgada pela NASA impressiona pela riqueza de detalhes.
English

@DrNeilStone Of course. Why is this even a question?
English

@atrupar @kangaroos991 Speaking of which.
English

@chronicalguy It would likely solve a few problems.

🚨 Breaking News‼️
IRAN HAS AGAIN SET NEW CONDITIONS TO END THE WAR WITH THE U.S
According to Iran, it says it will only agree to end the ongoing conflict if there is a change in the U.S. leadership.
Meaning, Donald Trump must be removed as the U.S president before they end the war.
It appears Iran's new goal is to achieve a regime change in the U.S.
Do you think it's possible?

Question for Liberals -
(Trying to prove a point)
If you had a MAGA family member,
Who constantly pushed their MAGA ideology on you,
Who referred to you with the usual MAGA rhetoric of being a
“Libtard”
“Woke”
“Soyboy”
(Just to name a few)
Now that same MAGA family member needed financial help…
Would you help them?
English

@LongTimeHistory The Church should pay taxes.

Catholic priest threatens to call ICE at Spanish mass—says it's ok because they're "all illegal."
"It’s totally ok that ICE is coming because you guys are all MS-13" was his sermon.
This made 2 women angry enough to walk out—"That's literally at Spanish mass he's telling them."
"The priest is giving political opinions, and I'm going to call the Archdiocese," woman says.
The church is located in Portland, Oregon. #DemsUnited

@Westfie84677955 @ExploreCosmos_ PS…graduate work includes both Masters and PhD studies. I mean, just so you know. Which you clearly don’t.
English

@Westfie84677955 @ExploreCosmos_ Again- what are your qualifications?
English

@Westfie84677955 @ExploreCosmos_ Where did you do your graduate work?
English

@MiserableAcade1 @ExploreCosmos_ Oh I don't deny scientific knowledge progresses and I don't deny there's a process involved but I do deny that is what is going on here
English

@timothy_dewitte @RodKahx Lots of MAGA madness on this thread.
Look, idiots, it was Easter fucking morning, and your goddam PRESIDENT acknowledged the day by ranting about war and invoking the Muslim deity.
If it’s a joke, it’s not funny.
But I suspect Trump meant it.
You people know this.
English

@RodKahx We understood the sarcasm. Democrats don't recognize it because it fits their narrative not to do so.
English

@DreamalotTech @RodKahx He did.

I just had the weirdest experience…I am watching a Norwegian cop show, dubbed. I see @joelkinnaman on the screen and I hear his American English, but his lips are speaking Norwegian!!!!
The guy speaks Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and English.
Remarkable.
English

@Westfie84677955 @ExploreCosmos_ OK then, YOU get out there and figure this shit out.
It’s a process, chucklehead.
English

Modern science has proven fraudulent. NASA predicted baby galaxies and evolving galaxies and no heavy elements observed by the JWST. Instead they observed fully mature stars and galaxies AND heavy elements as far away as they could see. So NOW they appeal to unobserved galaxies detected by their "fingerprints"🥴

@TheRealThelmaJ1 Trust me. He won’t be drinking any raw milk. He will have real doctors
English

@atrupar So @jaketapper where is your fucking goddam book on Trump’s decline? WHERE IS IT YOU BASTARD
