Most people see the medals and the discipline, but they rarely see what happens after combat. After Fallujah and years working alongside U.S. Special Operations, Jay came home stuck in survival mode. A Mission Within healing retreat helped him finally stop reliving it.

Psychedelic therapies for PTSD, depression, and TBI could finally move into the VA system As everyone has seen, Trump’s executive order is fast-tracking FDA review, research, and funding for treatments like ibogaine, psilocybin, and MDMA Seeing Jay Kopelman, Mission to Live Foundation CEO, mentioned in the Fox News coverage adds another layer, especially how he connects this moment to the Innovative Therapies Centers of Excellence Act In his words, this creates a pathway for the VA to begin psychedelic research and clinical trials, making these therapies available to veterans who haven’t found relief through SSRIs or talk therapy 👉 Read the Fox News article for more context: foxnews.com/health/trump-b…

Agreed, veterans earned their benefits through service. At the same time, making sure they can actually access effective care, especially for things like PTSD and TBI, is just as important. Outreach matters, but so does continuing to expand treatment options that actually work for those who need them.

Yesterday morning, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to fast track FDA review of psychedelics like ibogaine. For us, this is not a new conversation. It is something we have been seeing unfold for years through the veterans we support. Veterans living with PTSD and TBI have already been seeking out these treatments, often leaving the country and paying out of pocket, because the options available to them have not been enough. This executive order brings federal attention, funding, and faster review timelines into something that has largely existed outside the system. It also means the first steps toward clinical trials for ibogaine in the United States thanks to the bold leadership of @POTUS and the insightfulness of @joerogan. We are grateful for the leadership that we know will come from @HHSGov and @seckennedy At the same time, nothing is approved yet. There is no insurance coverage. And access is still out of reach for most without support. This is exactly why we exist. We have funded more than 300 scholarships for veterans seeking treatment and are working toward raising $3 million in 2026 to continue expanding access. This is a singular moment in American and world history, but our work continues today as it does every day. We thank all those who have done so much to bring us to this point. Especially those who paved a path for our veterans and first responders to receive healing, live-saving care when there were no other options available to them: Dr Martin Polanco @themission_within @PMCinDC @repluttrelltx @reploucorreaoc @repjackbergman @heroicheartsproject @ambiolifesciences @t4gmh @vmhlc_official @americansforibo and all the other fantastic organizations and people involved in this work! We’re curious to hear your take on this incredible news. Let’s chat in the comments

Big development. Focusing on psychedelics that already have “breakthrough therapy” status is a meaningful step, because those are the ones that have shown early clinical promise and were already on the FDA’s radar. If this really speeds up how they’re reviewed and studied, it could help move solid treatments forward faster. Still early, but definitely something to watch closely.

That makes a lot of sense, and you’re probably not alone in feeling that way. A lot of veterans hold that same line, but at the same time have seen firsthand how limited the current options can be. What’s different here is that this is about controlled research and clinical use, not recreational use. If it’s done properly, with real oversight and data, it could give people another option without compromising safety.

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump, flanked by Joe Rogan, has signed an executive order EXPEDITING FDA reviews of psychadelics, in support of veterans "Since 9/11, we've lost over 21x more veteran lives to suicide than on the battlefield... and today, we're bringing them new hope." This should've been done a long time ago!

It’s definitely a moment that a lot of people have been waiting for, especially in the veteran community. There’s been a real gap in effective options for PTSD and related conditions, so seeing more focus on research and new approaches is encouraging. Now it really comes down to how this is carried forward, making sure it’s done safely and actually translates into access for the people who need it most.

It’s definitely getting attention now in a way it hasn’t before. The focus on veterans and the scale of mental health challenges makes sense, especially when you look at those statistics. At the same time, this is really about accelerating research and review, not immediate access. If it leads to well-run trials and solid evidence, it could open up meaningful new options. Feels like something that could have impact, but it’ll depend on how carefully it’s handled from here.

It’s a big step in terms of getting these treatments properly studied. For a lot of veterans dealing with PTSD, depression, or addiction, current options don’t always go far enough, so opening up more research makes sense. At the same time, these are powerful substances with real risks, so it really comes down to how well the clinical trials are run and whether safety stays front and center. Feels promising, but still something that needs to be handled carefully as it develops.

Boom 💥 Trump signed an executive order to fast-track FDA review of certain psychedelics for treating serious mental health issues like PTSD, depression, and addiction in veterans. Key ones mentioned: ibogaine (big focus from Joe Rogan and veteran advocates), psilocybin (magic mushrooms), MDMA (ecstasy), and some others like LSD in research pipelines. $50 million allocated for more studies, plus easier pathways for breakthrough therapies and “Right to Try” access. What do you think — promising tool for veterans struggling with treatment-resistant conditions, or too risky given the hallucinogenic nature and potential side effects?” #MentalHealth #PTSD #Psychedelics #Psilocybin #Mushrooms #Ibogaine #RFKJR #Trump #Veterans

It’s interesting how long ibogaine has been around in these conversations, especially in addiction and mental health, and how quickly things can shift once it starts being taken seriously again. There’s definitely potential here, but it will come down to how well the research is done and whether it can move through proper clinical trials safely. If that happens, it could open up new options for people who haven’t had much success with existing treatments.

Trump signs executive order from White House youtu.be/zSftzJoSCYg?si… via @YouTube I first heard about IBOGAINE as a tx for addiction, depression, PTSD, anxiety disorders when I was the director of the Alameda County(CA) Drug Court in Oakland, Ca. It went nowhere due primarily to its' association with the 60's/70's psychedelic counterculture and the association with Timothy Leary. This has the potential to be a divine paradigm shift in addressing the spiritual and soul roots of mental and physical disorders and the corresponding brain chemistry components. God bless President Trump, Joe Rogan and the whole Trump Team assembled at the signing ceremony.

Big moment for the space. This doesn’t mean approval yet, but it does remove some of the bottlenecks that have slowed research and clinical trials for years. If this leads to stronger data and well-run studies, it could move real treatments closer for people dealing with PTSD, TBI, and treatment-resistant depression. Feels like progress, but still early. Curious to see how this actually plays out.

@LairdOfThManor 🚀 Huge breakthrough for mental health and neuroplasticity! Yesterday, President Trump signed a game-changing Executive Order: “Accelerating Medical Treatments for Serious Mental Illness.” This EO slashes FDA red tape on psychedelic drugs with real potential for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and other devastating conditions affecting over 14 million Americans. Key wins: • National Priority Vouchers for psychedelic drugs that have Breakthrough Therapy designation — fast-tracking FDA review. • Expanded Right-to-Try pathway so eligible patients can access investigational psychedelics (including compounds like psilocybin/psilocin) sooner, once basic safety is met. • $50 million in ARPA-H matching funds for states investing in psychedelic research programs. • Faster post-Phase 3 rescheduling by the Attorney General. • Strong push for VA and private-sector clinical trials. Why am I excited? Psilocin (the active form of psilocybin) is one of the most promising compounds for rapid dendritic regrowth and cortical neuroplasticity. It activates 5-HT2A receptors, boosts BDNF signaling, and can literally increase dendritic spine density in the prefrontal cortex — often within hours to days. This structural brain change is believed to drive the fast, sustained antidepressant and anti-PTSD effects we’re seeing in trials. This EO removes exactly the bureaucratic barriers that have slowed research and access. It could dramatically accelerate the timeline from promising preclinical and early clinical data on dendritic regrowth → larger mechanistic studies → approved therapies that actually help rewire the brain. For anyone struggling with treatment-resistant mental illness, or veterans battling PTSD and TBI, this is real hope on the horizon. The science of psychedelic-driven neuroplasticity has been building for years. Now policy is catching up in a big way. What do you think — game-changer or just the beginning? This morning, @POTUS signed an Executive Order to prioritize ibogaine research in the U.S. Mission to Live Foundation has been funding our veterans and first responders to access this life-saving therapy abroad and will continue to do so until the day that this is available to all veterans and first responders here at home. Thank you, President Donald J. Trump for your leadership and courage to take this hugely important step toward ending veteran suicide. And thank you to all the organizations and individuals who have worked tirelessly to help make this a reality.

The real work starts after treatment. U.S. Marine and American veteran Jay Kopelman went through 12 integration coaching sessions and 10 guided meditation sessions after his retreat. Not a magic pill. But something that settled, and still shows up when he needs it.

Jay Kopelman expected his son to follow his path. High standards, discipline, performance. But his son wasn’t that, and that wasn’t a problem. He realised his son didn’t need to be a version of him to be enough.

@PsydelicsToday @jomo137 This is an important point. If ibogaine moves forward, it cannot just be scaled up and medicalized without care. Preparation, integration, and respect for the communities it comes from should be part of the foundation, not an afterthought.
