We need to do an ideological intervention on boomer-age US seniors who watch the MSM regarding the US crimes in Iran. I had six conversations today and the shit I heard out of people's mouths regarding this conflict in the last 6 hours has been legitimately terrifying. Even the ones who oppose the war have no concept at all of the world outside and can be convinced to rationalize the mass death of other people at the hands of our country in ways that I cannot even fathom. When you live on the other side of the goddamn planet from the place being attacked and you know your country was the aggressor, how on Earth do you think it is possible that your country is in the right? I legitimately do not see it. These people lived through the fucking Church commission. What were they doing?! Did they read things!? Most people here literally know nothing about the place they live. One person told me that the millions of people in Iran who are out on the street mourning or supporting Khamenei and their government are there because they are each individually being threatened by their government. And they cited three people who were executed as how they knew this was a fact. Mind you, these are people living in a country that has the death penalty 🤯 But it is perfectly logical to them that because the death penalty exists in Iran somehow the government is personally threatening each citizen individually with death. All, however, many millions. The Iranian government must be very busy in the fantasy world they've created in their minds. They also cannot comprehend why a country under siege might need to shut down the internet or how even if they don't love their leader, they might not want the United States to come in and kill that person. Also nothing in their brain that says that the fake death numbers the US uses to villainize Iran still wouldn't justify the US bombing Iran and killing significantly more people. The fact that there is a President of another country that has been illegally renditioned and is sitting in solitary confinement in a New York jail cell doesn't seem to affect their view of the US... But they will happily call every resistance group in the region a terrorist while convincing themselves that their country is somehow doing self-defense, not terrorism and that US military bases in neighboring countries are not legitimate targets? Also, the speed at which they are willing to rationalize the hell reigned down on other peoples for no reason that they can really explain or the use of nuclear weapons to "end conflicts" "because we can" truly needs to be examined by psychologists from a normal place. How they can circle the square of being both be concerned about Iran having nukes because of theoretical risk but believe it is okay on any level for them to suggest the US using them is fucking crazy. I think we might need some kind of shock therapy that occurs every time a US citizen suggests the use of nuclear weapons or obliterating another country like it's normal. This is easily the most radicalized population in the world talking about destroying other countries with more than 90 million people because they feel their governments are "too radical." When the US falls the first people up against the wall at the next Nuremberg need to be the mainstream news media and there will need to be re-education programs to de-radicalize these people and teach them some level of basic logic and sense of common humanity. China or Iran or whomever defeats us, I hope you're hearing this... You have no idea the level of programming you're up against. 😐
