@nealhaddaway Dear Neal, sorry to hear that your claim wasn't accepted. Sadly, when the pre-existing ear infection is linked to the one being claimed, it won't be covered. From your emails, we see that your vets are due to update us in August, we look forward to hearing back from them.
In case you were considering @NapoInsurance for your dog - they will consider an ear infection a pre-existing condition if your dog has ever had an ear infection. Clearly they do not understand anatomy or dogs. Avoid them.
