New Year’s Day saw my Fell Race debut (jury still out on if there will be a repeat appearance). 400m of ascent was plenty for me to be getting on with. Hope I am able to overcome the other challenges that 2026 will offer is similarly good spirits.

Another year another Round the Walls completed. Only 1 missed in 24 years (2004) beginning to feel like a tradition! 🤣

My weekend in two T-shirts. Mixing the pleasure of welcome new @DerbyUni students and racing in the British Masters T&T champs.

My first British Masters Pentathlon Champs. Pleased to have finished 7th overall and to have racked up a number of age-group PBs. Roll-on the T&F champs in 2 weeks.

I seem to have done a thing today. Next stop British Masters Pentathlon in two week (where I do not anticipate and such prizes).

Proud coach but prouder parent moment. Both daughters making it to the England Senior Athletics champs. Elder running a cracking 400m and younger coming away with gold in the U23 100m (Silver in the Senior).

Fantastic to be able to celebrate the successes of our amazing #BLCFE2025 students tonight in Buxton.

Excited to be making my @DerbyBookFest debut today, interviewing Paul Sinton-Hewitt the man behind @parkrunUK. Whilst nervous about my first appearance I know I will be safe with the parkrun community who make everyone feel welcome.

After BUCS last weekend, the last two days have been Cheshire County Champs. Officiating, competing and more ‘dad’ing.

Few more years ago to get back to my appearances in the steeplechase.

Excited to have ‘dad’ interest in this morning’s 100m final.

May Bank Holiday can only mean BUCS outdoor athletics championships. Three days of coaching, ‘dad’ing and supporting the @DerbyUni students taking part.

An enjoyable jaunt around the streets of Derby yesterday in the @DCCTOfficial 10k. Hopefully lots of money raised to support their work across the city.

Have to love a day the begins with the opportunity to teach our lovely first year sport and exercise science students! A bit of angular kinetics to start the day!
