When someone says "tokenize it" and "RWAs" it can be very broad. Tokenization isn't a single process, it's a design choice. The term tokenization is new and blurry. There is no standard definition or process. Let's break it down to what that actually means 🧵

why the fck would anyone in france voluntarily declare their crypto, pay tax on it, and end up on a kidnap list as a thank you? 41 crypto kidnappings in france in the first 3.5 months of 2026. for context: all of 2025 = 30 cases. 2024 and 2023 almost nothing. a tax office employee in bobigny, 32, was arrested in june 2025. investigators found targeted searches on her workstation: crypto specialists, crypto investors. their files, names, addresses, declared holdings, were sold to criminal networks for physical attacks and extortion. she's the only publicly known case. nobody thinks she's the only one. → the waltio leak: waltio is a french crypto tax-filing app. last december, shiny hunters lifted data on ~50,000 users: names, phone numbers, emails, tax residency, declared gains and balances. ~5,000 already surfaced on the dark web. 3 kidnappings allegedly tied to that list netted criminals $9.3m, $3.8m, and $4m. a leaked exchange list is messy. a leaked tax declaration list is a pre-filtered kidnap dataset: > confirmed crypto holder > verified holding size > full legal identity > physical address > inside the country, reachable and now, the french government wants ids and private dms of social media users on top of all that. if it weren't illegal i'd tell you not to declare your crypto. but it is illegal, so i'm not telling you.

@ChanniGreenwall Totally agree. That said, if AI is able though to lower the complexity barrier over time, I think we could see much broader adoption of applied formal verification. Making it more practical could be a big win, especially for smaller projects

Mutation testing, fuzzing, static analysis, formal verification, and expert adversarial review each catch what the previous layer misses. Running an AI scan is not a security stack, it's a single probabilistic tool being asked to do the work of an entire layered approach. The protocols that conflate the two are the ones that show up in exploit post-mortems.

What does the token actually do? This has been one of the most fundamental unanswered questions in DeFi since the beginning. Does the token control governance? Does it have any claim on the treasury? Does it receive protocol revenue via buybacks or dividends? Today, we launched Token Rights on DefiLlama. Token Rights gives you a clear, standardized view of what a token entitles holders to: revenue, treasury, governance, or none of the above. We’ve rolled this out across two dozen protocols, including additional context like historical governance discussions around token rights and whether teams raised equity separately from the token.
