That was not a black man. The bus was hitting a young Hispanic man. The driver was so enraged that he beat on a guy two times smaller than him; I think he has some anger issues himself. Calling fair representation ‘disenfranchisement’ simply because districts are no longer engineered around race is exactly why Americans are exhausted with identity politics. There are no ‘Black districts.’ There are American districts. Citizens vote. Communities evolve. People move. Coalitions form naturally. The idea that Black Americans can only be politically represented through racially engineered maps is itself deeply insulting. It assumes Black citizens cannot persuade, organize, compete, or influence outside segregated political boundaries. That mindset keeps racial division alive because certain politicians profit from grievance instead of outcomes.
