Two facts that I believe are true regarding the current events in CA: (1) You cannot be a civil rights leader or any type of leader whatsoever if you abuse children and women. Leaders lead by example. Period. (2) You can support, stand with and show compassion for victims and survivors of crime even if you disagree with them politically, even if they didn’t file a police report and even if they didn’t tell anyone for decades.

I would say also, that Dolores had a untreated pattern of resentment that made her want to "fix" him in ways that boosted her ego. Like a veiled attempt of humiliate him with fake status symbols when she really felt he was her biggest assaulter. Sadly, for child sexual assault survivors left untreated this is a "normal" reaction.

My heart breaks for those two young girls in the article and any other victims. But I don't think anyone can really equate that true victimhood to that of what Dolores is saying. Over several years two separate incidents of sex abuse that both incidents resulted in pregnancy, what are the statistical chances of that happening? Here in the Central Valley it was well known that Caesar and Dolores were partners for years. She later went on to Mary Caesar's brother and have four children from him. It raises questions not only about Cesar Chavez but the whole family. And if you examine the UFW today every major leadership position is held by a Chavez family member. Very very corrupt.

UCLA has a department named after Cesar Chavez aimed at Chicano and South American studies. I hope they change their curriculum before they keep poisoning the minds of our children.

@Imagodei01 Fascinating details. Did you read some of those. But you no more than I do. Sounds like you have a pretty good take on things. But the reality of it is, it only takes one sexual assault to create a pattern of resentment and destructive behavior. If left untreated that is.

And then there's that.

@Imagodei01 Yes, but her abuse happened (allegedly) when she was a child. That plays a major role in all this.

His name and image should be removed everywhere. Unfortunately, I'm hearing all this commentary that his name should be replaced with the name of Dolores Huerta. Dolores is not the innocent victim she claims to be. Caesar and Dolores were grifters all of their adult life using and abusing people. Contact people that have previously worked for the Dolores Huerta Foundation and they will tell you working for her you learn her public image and reality are two different things. She's not the innocent old lady she makes herself out to be
