never has a show ever been so hung up on something that happened 20 years ago. it doesn’t even feel like 20 years ago, because both of these people are still in the show. if the rumours for Christmas are true, i hope it’s the last we ever see of this era.

It's funny that Thirteen's era coincided with a massive fandom reappraisal of Twelve's era, and now people are trying to do the same thing to Thirteen and the general consensus is "No it was pretty bad actually"

@nekaishi The fact that the series managed to make me feel so emotional in this scene, towards a man who looks as as absurd as Hiriluk does, is a triumph as far as I'm concerned.

No one can convince me this is a bad show Is it the anime? No. It’s 154 chapters crammed into 16 episodes (S1 & S2). They took some creative liberties, changed some scenes, missed some good scenes, and a few things could’ve been better However, this is the best live-action I’ve ever seen It has the most consistently excellent casting, and acting of any anime adaptation I’ve ever seen, aside from a couple of choices The show is actually good, guys. Just go in with an open mind and appreciate it for what it is and you'll have fun

@Erdenetkulkanfc Apologies. I was referring to a certain Big Finish Master actor who turned out to be a not so nice guy. Most the fandom has rightfully decided to ignore him, but it does bug me a little as a completionist that there's now always an incarnation missing from pictures like this.

@Erdenetkulkanfc According to the behind the scenes feature in the podcast, Ainley was actually meant to star in what became "Dust Breeding", but he was very difficult to work with and kept demanding too much money and creative control, so Big Finish dropped him and brought in Beevers instead.

@NickFerrazza You’re probably mixing him up with someone else. Ainley never did any Big Finish audios. In “Dust Breeding” the Master was played by Geoffrey Beevers and he’s a genuinely lovely person. So please don’t throw around accusations about good people without proof

Question for Doctor Who fans: How do we feel about the VNA Novels in retrospect? They definitely helped keep the series alive during the Wilderness Years and brought into the fold the same people who'd go on to write New Who. But do they still hold up now in your opinion?
