An Iranian singer has been sentenced to 74 lashes for performing without a hijab at a concert In December 2024, Parastoo Ahmadi performed wearing a dress with bare shoulders and sang several songs. The video gathered nearly 3 million views. Afterwards, the singer, musicians, and film crew were detained. A court found them guilty of “violating public morality norms.” Ahmadi and eight other members of the team were sentenced to 74 lashes each, as well as a two-year ban on artistic activity and leaving Iran.

If I were faced with a so-called terrorist state that had killed my entire family over the years, I’d do the same. And I’m sorry for the children who died, for the sake of humanity; but on the other hand, isn’t this already the fate destined for them so that the Messiah might come into the world? That’s their mission; the Palestinians aren’t killing anyone because they’ve been chosen.
