There's a sweet spot of dislike that a minority viewpoint can occupy where it seems to give credibility to that person/opinion.
Then there's the likes of James Lindsay and Sam Harris, whose opinions are so universally disliked that it's plain as day how obscenely wrong they are.

The damage has been done over decades and any solution will take a long time OR have a massive impact if we want to solve it quickly. Likely economic crashes.
