I grew up homeless. I had a lot of friends who were homeless. I never assaulted anyone, and neither did they. Assuming people only commit crimes because they’re down on their luck is prime retardation. This is Canada. His meds are free. His treatment is free. Housing is available. Welfare is available. The province and city dumps infinity money into whatever social feel-good programs he would ever need or want to access for his “mental health.” His mental health and access to meds is not the problem here. He is a violent man who knows how to manipulate the system. That much is clear and obvious in that he is faking Indigenous ancestry and hand-picking his judge to ensure he gets the least amount of time possible. You can’t see that, because, again, you mistake your retardation for moral superiority. He relies on the existence of willfully clueless people like you to get his way. You are just as much a danger to society as he is.

update: the schizo black guy who assaulted me has now self-identified as Indigenous and will be going through a special court where a judge is required to consider the impact of colonialism when determining his sentence and reduce it accordingly. :)
