If you're so pressed about NFA, swap the lower out of that M4, sell it on the market for a steeply discounted price. Funds go back to the military, surplus doesn't get destroyed, rot in a warehouse till they're past usable, or given to some random unstable country and disappear into the market for everyone else besides people here.

@pirooooon3 You technically can. But it has to go to a FFL (Federal Firearm License holder, basically a gun store) and you need to do a background check and fill 4473 paperwork before you can pick it up. In some states the background check can go quick in others you have a waiting period.
