In life, I believe in statistical probabilities. In Karen Read’s case, the odds seem slim that a drunk woman accidentally breaks her taillight while her Lexus reverses at 24 mph, just as the victim’s iPhone goes silent. This is a domestic violence/OUI vehicle-pedestrian strike.

Otroligt okänsligt att deklarera skilsmässa på sociala medier och i samma andetag nästan hånfullt skylta med att man gått bakom ryggen på sin fru i nästan ett års tid. Egentligen ingen stor sak att skilja sig men fan, man kan ju åtminstone försöka att visa hänsyn till den andre.

Om lite drygt två veckor träder ”Lex Dumpen” ikraft. Lagändringen innebär att försöksbrott inte längre kräver att ett faktiskt brottsoffer behöver riskera att utsättas, exempelvis därför att en polis har klivit emellan. Det innebär att en pedofil som försöker förgripa sig på ett barn kan dömas om ”barnet” istället visar sig vara en polisman som låtsas vara ett barn på nätet. Mycket bra!

Just a bizarre host. Her legal analysis seemingly was based more upon her emotional support for a "side" than it was her professional legal experience. In 2024, she immediately blocked me on Twitter when I professionally responded to her posted "analysis" about a witness in the Read case. A journalist/lawyer blocking another lawyer for having a professional and polite discussion but with a different opinion is probably not suited for hosting a legal show.

Also, apparently Julie Grant is out at CourtTV. So, the quality of CourtTV has gone up substantially.

@LawyerYouKnow Prescription drugs and illicit street drugs are not the same thing. Both can be abused, but they just aren't inherently the same, and that seems obvious.

After the judge said the defense opened the door to discuss whether (even hearing from others apparently) the state asked HAS ANYONE EVER TOLD YOU Eric took illicit street drugs? And he said no - but in a prior statement he said Eric was addicted to pain pills in highschool. The judge seems to be struggling with the "illicit street drug" part of this - IMO the state decided to continue down that road (unnecessarily) and this should ABSOLUTELY come in - not sure the judge will agree, but the state should have just stayed away from this knowing that prior statement was out there. Just as an aside - pain pills can ABSOLUTELY be considered illicit street drugs.

You have to remember there is no other case like Karen Read. Diller is learning that. He is probably getting “tips” and “information” from people with less‑than‑pure intentions who may try to use him for their own purposes. I assume he learned from this past experience and will now be much more careful about vetting those “tips.”
