People online say that if you're planning to kill someone, dig the hole first. This is bad advice legally, but there is a practicality to it. Most people would realize they're not actually that angry before they were even halfway finished.

@camsticky I'm guessing it requires Sichuan peppercorns... and if I was going somewhere that sold them, they probably also sell the oil.

My local grocery store rearranged everything to build like bunkered in areas for high theft stuff. In the process it seems like they no longer carry some stuff I like. But it is niche stuff, I guess.

We're in for some rough times in Canada. There's a lot of youth whose future has been sold. Right now, a lot of them are living with parents, but eventually those parents will pass and those youth will have nothing. If there's no change in course, this will be very, very bad.

So, it looks like one of the big things the LPC needed a majority for was privatizing our airports. If you think Canadian airfares are high now (they are ridiculously high compared to the US/Europe), get ready to see those costs multiply.

@LionAdvocacy That said, a _funnier_ thing would be if you can identify the YouTuber and pull up their own stream, blasting it on speaker so that there's an echo with a few seconds of delay.

If a Livestreamer or YouTuber is bothering you in a public area by filming you without your permission so that they can later publish & monetize your (over)reaction, I've actually come up with a pretty neat hack as a counter-measure. Available by DM only (once I ID you...)

Mrs. Runkle is out of the house for dinner today. I have determined that I am out of chicken hearts. This vexes me. Especially because I've had a couple of backyard drinks and while I'm sure I'm legally fine to drive, I'm not driving. But, the only good thing about Mrs. Runkle being out for dinner is eating things she doesn't care for.

@SetantaDArc @dissidentwest If I can show someone is innocent at trial, that is absolutely my job. They are not guilty until proven guilty. If I can prove otherwise, they are not guilty.

@IanRunkle @dissidentwest My point was that it's not your job to prove or argue that someone guilty is innocent. It's your job to either prove the prosecutors don't have a sufficient case to prove guilt, or if they do, it then becomes your job to defend the guilty party's rights during sentencing.

Has there ever been a case where a defense attorney was just overwhelmed with guilt for defending a client that was too evil to defend? Or are they all sociopaths?

@SetantaDArc @dissidentwest My job is to zealously defend my client, within the bounds of legal ethics. If the prosecution fails to prove their case, my client should be acquitted.

@IanRunkle @dissidentwest Also a matter that your job as a defense attorney isn't to make sure your defendant gets away with what they've done. It's to ensure the process of the law is followed properly and their rights are protected dutifully. That doesn't make any difference if they're guilty or not.
