Nigeria sells raw cocoa at $8,000 a tonne. Processed into butter it earns $48,000. Made into chocolate it earns $240,000. 30 times the money, yet Nigeria is still choosing $8,000.

That’s the way my husband called me asked for money to buy fuel. As an intelligent wife, I knew immediately that the call was on speaker and in order to not fall our hand, I told him “I gat you my love” and sent 50k so his friends can hail him and tell him how lucky he is. He called me back and was thanking me and that’s where the wahala began because he was sounding too genuine. I waited for like two hours before calling him and asking him to send the money back since the joke abi test was over. Oga said it wasn’t a joke anything o 😭. I said okay nau, send my money back, he said he won’t send anything, he’ll just deduct it from all the money I’ve been borrowing from him without paying back. This is why it’s not good to be good to men. 💔

I was fixing my lashes when two friends started talking. One said she was craving noodles and asked where she could get some. The other replied, “Iconic, but it’s about ₦2k.” Their married friend laughed and said: “That’s small money. Let me call my husband. I’ll tell him it’s ₦10k.” Her friend even advised, “Just say ₦4k.” She refused. Put the call on speaker and asked for ₦10k to buy food. Her husband said: “Which day that one start to use 10k buy food?” Then he ended the call. 😭 Sis has been explaining all day that maybe he’s just not in a good mood.

Last week, I went to visit a family friend at her shop, and while we were talking, she called her 7-year-old daughter to get a bottle of Coke from the fridge. The little girl grabbed the bottle, slipped, and dropped it. The bottle shattered everywhere. As I got up to ask if she was okay, she immediately got up, ignored the broken glass around her, ran out of the shop, and started crying. Her mother was livid. She called her back into the shop to face the consequences and yelled some hurtful words at her. I helped clean up the mess and asked the child to stay outside because her mom was so upset. Then I asked the mother why she was so angry. She said the girl was too playful. I told her I had been watching and that the child wasn’t playing at all; she simply slipped and fell. She repeated that the girl was always too playful. I acknowledged that she might be, but that wasn’t why the Coke dropped. I saw what happened: it was clear that she slipped. I then asked her to try to understand the difference between a child being playful and an accident happening. After all, she could have dropped the bottle, too, if she had slipped. I reminded her that while our children can sometimes be playful, accidents happen, and they are still just kids. We shouldn’t beat or punish them for every mistake. Sometimes, we need to talk to them instead. Imagine being so afraid of your parent that you run over broken glass just to avoid being punished. What if she had slipped again and gotten seriously hurt? All over a mistake that could happen to anyone. I understand that parenting is hard and can be exhausting, but we need to stop taking our frustrations out on our children. It’s not okay. She was quiet for most of the conversation because I was upset, too. Later, she wanted to use food as a way of apologizing, asking her, “Come here, I know you are hungry. What would you like to eat?” but I insisted that she talk to her daughter instead. I wanted the child to understand that it was just an accident and to hear from her mother that accidents happen. Sometimes, that’s what children need most, not punishment, but understanding. So, my fellow parents, please and please and please. These kids are just kids. Their brains are just developing, and they need our help, support, and guidance through these stages. Do not blame and punish them for everything.

I really, really need an explanation from people who have in-depth knowledge about this. Daniel got admission into 20+ schools globally and was awarded cumulative scholarships of over $1 million across the US, UK, and Canada from top schools to study Economics. Yet, he was told he didn't qualify to study the same Economics in a Nigerian university because he didn't do 5 "social science" subjects at O'Level. This is someone who already took Harvard's 100-level Economics course at age 16 and passed, topped his Higher Diploma class in Economics and Business Management, and had A* in Economics, Business, and Mathematics at IGCSE. He was literally being chased by several global institutions, but NUC is stuck in its old ways. Anyway, he's taking up an offer from a global institution. I am genuinely flummoxed and curious. I'm hoping someone who understands this properly can explain it to me.

Why does the President hardly ever address the nation despite the relentless insurgency, kidnappings, and insecurity that Nigerians face every day? People are being killed. Children are being abducted. Communities are living in fear. In many countries, leaders speak directly to their citizens during moments of crisis to reassure them, explain actions being taken, and show that they understand the pain of the people. The silence is becoming as disturbing as the insecurity itself. Are Nigerians not human beings?

Bola Tinubu and Remi Tinubu are a perfect illustration of what it means to marry one’s type. A vicious couple bonded by destructive and greedy proclivities. Zero empathy. All they care about is political power and total state capture. When will this nightmare end in our country?

1. Atiku Abubakar is broke (full stop). 2. He was financially decimated by Buhari, who wanted to ensure he would no longer have a large war chest to fund an election. 3. Buhari achieved this through Hadiza Usman, who frustrated Intels, a company co-owned by Atiku. 4. In 2021, Atiku sold his shares in Intels and used the money to run in the 2023 PDP primary election. Gov. Wike made sure Atiku spent big in PDP primaries by paying $30,000 per delegate. 5. Atiku who was fully extorted, needed a sitting governor to open his state treasury to co-fund his 2023 campaign, and Gov. Okowa came in handy. 6. Records show that Gov. Okowa borrowed N30,000,000,000 from three banks, Zenith Bank, UBA, and Access Bank. That was the money used for Atiku’s presidential campaign in 2023. 6b. EFCC records shows that Okowa could not show which project swallowed the last minute loan he took from 3 banks in 2022 using Delta state allocation as security. 7. Atiku’s remaining businesses, like America a university of Nigeria, Adama Beverage Limited, Gotel Communications, and Prodeco Nigeria Limited, cannot provide Atiku with the funds needed for the 2027 election, so he's looking for another “Okowa.” Sadly, that option is now limited. 8. Atiku has 25 voracious children waiting for food to be ready. Potential 25 Seyi Tinubu’s. Can Nigeria survive it? No! 9. Bottom line is: what we've seen Tinubu do will be child’s play compared to what Atiku will do if he becomes president. 10. A man who’s badly financially decimated and damaged, who has sold many assets and liquidated numerous businesses in his quest for the presidency, will first recover his investments before doing anything else. 11. If Tinubu, with Lagos treasury in his hands, is still hustling and scavenging the nation like a hungry vulture, imagine what Atiku will do. 12. Peter Obi remains Nigeria’s only real option. He's not broke. He's not hungry. He will not thief up your money. 13. This cannot be said about Atiku and Tinubu. 14. May God save us from Atiku and Tinubu. @ Lawrence Ibe

@Allison_Nuel Sadly, some of us cannot watch it because we do not have access to it. However, I've been telling my friends about it and a couple of them have them me how beautiful the movie is. Maybe you'd bring it to Netflix by the end of the year, then we can watch it.

Good morning all. I am Allison… Lead Actor, Writer, Director & Producer/Executive Producer of The Boy Who Gave. It’s been almost 3 weeks since the release of my debut feature in cinemas nationwide and I want to take a moment to extend my gratitude to everyone who’s shown me support by watching. It’s been all over the TL that a producer without a fanbase should never attempt taking a movie to cinemas but you showed up for me regardless. Horrible showtimes, but you came out to watch and show support regardless… I am grateful. Special thanks to everyone who’s been talking about the film. Everyone who’s been letting people know that it’s a great film. Thank you! For your messages, videos, posts… thank you! Thanks to my Mentor for all his guidance during this period. Thanks to my Team to forging strong and doing the best we can. Thanks to God for taking control. 🙏 THE BOY WHO GAVE is still in cinemas nationwide! It is a really important film. You should see it this week if you haven’t. ❤️ #AllisonTheLight
