Even great beginnings must have an end 🤝💙
This will be a long post so I fully accept being ‘Keanu-Reeves-Cyberpunk-meme’d in the replies.
Some 13+ years ago I started my streaming journey. I’ve had the fortune of growing together with Twitch as I was in the first batch of channels to get partnered dating back to Feb, 2012. Twitch and the streaming space looked a lot different back then.
I had my biggest channel growth spurt around Call of Duty. With the launch of MW3 where both the Youtube and Twitch channels grew together. With our ‘rivalry’ with TBNRfrags, the content kind of wrote itself. When two people are trying to be the best it creates incredible competition and ingenuity. He would one-up me; I would do it back to him. 100 MOAB streams. 200 MOAB streams. Crazy challenges every single day. Once I left the CoD bubble, we had many more arcs. CSGO. Cube World. Fortnite. H1Z1. VALORANT. Tarkov. There are a million other games in-between but these stand out in my mind.
Now with all this pre-context ‘Old man talking about the past’-part out of the way let me get to the ultimate point: I will be retiring from streaming completely at the end of the year. It’s a decision I don’t take lightly as it’s been my job and identity for the past 13 years. With that said, I feel like I’ve accomplished what I wanted to accomplish, and I yearn for more learning and growing. I also have a massive change career-wise happening in early 2025 that I want to be 100% ready for. I’m so incredible happy and satisfied with how things have gone, and I have this newfound peace of mind that all steps have led me to this point 🙏
Streaming for this long comes with some interesting stuff. Some people watched my content through most of their school years. Some are as old or older than me (I know it’s hard to believe). Think about who you were as a person 10+ years ago and how much you have changed in that period. Now multiply it with everyone in the community. Some of these people are still around to this day 🤯
I want to thank everyone who has enjoyed my content in whatever phase of my streaming career. You have given me an opportunity that I will never forget and badass stories for me to reminisce about when I’m old(er) 👴
