I don’t know how kid-me ever beat this without guides. Metroid on the NES is way more intense than I remembered. One boss left. Trying again tonight.

@UnpluggedRetro Yea I get it. The main reason I picked this up was to get the Phantasy Star games. I really want to jump into those. Outside of downloading it $9.00 is about the cheapest I’m going to get them.

@OverwhelmedGame Sega ruined its nostalgia factor by constantly releasing these collections. And I ruined it by constantly buying them. I always make a joke by saying I have 100 versions of Sonic the Hedgehog but I think the joke is real. I have it on my phone, iPod video, collections, etc

@OverwhelmedGame We were on vacation and we found a copy of The Bouncer for the ps2 that actually leaked months before release. I read the manual for like a week before we got home and I could actually play it

🚀 Going LIVE tonight at 10:00pm CT! Jumping back into Metroid on the NES for my second run through Planet Zebes. Playing smarter, exploring deeper, and hunting secrets I missed the first time.

@sorengamesretro I’ve not played that one. I did love Duck Tails though.

@OverwhelmedGame I beat it on a windows xp machine back in the early 2000 with an emulator and save states. On console with no saves, extremely hard.

Just started Metroid (NES) last night and I’m honestly impressed. The exploration and world design feel way ahead of their time—especially on NES hardware. Can’t believe how much this game trusts the player. Did you play this back in the day or discover it later? 🚀🎮
