I’d disagree with the notion that Fano absolutely wouldn’t play over Walker. Walker was given a very low-dollar contract — way more in line with a backup OT — for one year. If Fano beat Walker in camp, he’d play. Fano also could beat Fortner and play C. Potential shift to OT in year 2, should they choose that path. Again, I’m literally just saying that I view that quote to mean that if a player falls into their lap that they love, they’ll take him and it’ll be with the intention of the player playing.
