@Wildcat_wave They had to have a feeling/knew that he was a Jayhawk for awhile now right? No way they went in the past few months, especially let's say the last month thinking they had a 95% of getting him. People talk, even though their circle is tight. Dont blame this soley on Stokes/Pope

I've been PLENTY negative about Kentucky's recruiting situation over the last 12+ hours. However, I'm not going to pile on about Coach Pope's current trip to Israel. Making fun of Márcio Santos' stats simply shows you don't understand international basketball. Yes, he averages 8.4 points & 4.1 rebounds per game. However, he was a solid rotation player (what he would be asked to be at Kentucky) in the EuroLeague which is the highest level of basketball competition in the world outside of the NBA/Olympics. You now who averages 9.1 & 5.4 for Maccabi Tel Aviv? TJ Leaf...who averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a freshman at UCLA and was the #18 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

What a meltdown after Tyran Stokes picked Kansas over UK. I don’t know who were most vicious, UK fans on social media or trained journalists who typically cover UK. I guess it was to be expected. If MP would only hire 1 particular person as GM, Big Blue would be in FF next March.

Realistically, I don’t love Kentucky’s position at this point in the offseason, but I’m not going to be in a negative loop for six months before a game is played. Kentucky has the most money in CBB left to spend. NBA Draft withdraws, global options available. Big month ahead.

Quite frankly, Kentucky's roster as it is, is not a top 25 team. Stokes would've provided a massive boost. Now, it's time to go searching after an absolutely MASSIVE miss

@RowlandRIVALS For average SEC play true, but for the Florida's, ULs, Arkansas' and other top 15 teams it doesn't rank at all.

A lot of things can be true at once so I'm not saying everything is fine but I do think a lot of people are underselling the quality on the roster that Kentucky does have lined up. Diallo, Wilkins, Ndiaye, Kam, Moreno, McBride is not a bad first six.

@GoodmanHoops So he hires a GM and we get another 2/3 years as him as HC? No thanks. You can bring in a young Pat Riley, hes still an average-at best coach. Players like Stokes still will not come here because they dont wanna be associated with HCs who aren't proven.

That was maybe the biggest issue for me at Kentucky. Should have had a GM plan with two people working together solely on portal plan since November. One does initial evals and other works on relationships with all the agents.

@Wildcat_wave And heres another flip side. With what he has if he can pull off 25/26 wins. Say a championship game in the SEC and a final 8 then everyone will have to rethink tonight's disappointment. Can it happen? Sure. But tons of factors play into it.

@Pearsone69 I do think they’re around there. More towards 40. Just isn’t anywhere good enough at Kentucky especially with all of the chances you had to land top talent
