@Brightonian_ @owen_bhafc ‘Growth’ certainly wasn’t the primary reason they signed him, but there’s no reason we can’t have faith that he does develop, if given the time and patience required. Ultimately, it was a ‘gamble’ hiring with a broader range of outcomes than your standard manager acquisition.

@owen_bhafc I have theories, but ultimately that’s a question for Bloom and Barber - and what their expectations are here.

A thought. Is it at all possible that Bloom and the club are prepared to hire a young, inexperienced head coach and give him more than a season to grow and develop with us? #BHAFC

@Brightonian_ No one’s questioning the talent, so there is pretty clearly a red flag or two that have popped up… and at multiple clubs now. Something / things the club isn’t confident they can resolve quickly, so cutting their losses. Huge shame, such an exciting prospect.

Barco was a player I was really looking forward to playing for us, so I would appreciate more info on what’s gone on here. Are we owed an explanation? No. But from the outside looking in the whole Barco saga is frankly bizarre. Clearly a talented player, wanted by various top clubs. We sign him and ship him out after half a season? Can only assume either we don’t rate him at all (which would be strange given we recruited him). Or there was some real fallout within the club. Whole episode is very odd…

Just thinking it through logically. If we are going to sell Ferguson and bring in Tzimas, you’d imagine we’d be getting the Tzimas deal over the line first. No chance we’re still negotiating that transfer just after we’ve pocketed £50m+ (or whatever) for Ferguson. Would be a terrible negotiation tactic and poker hand all round. I’d expect Tzimas to fly in and Evan to fly out within a couple of days of each other ✈️ 🇩🇪
