You would drop all of your beliefs up to that point to believe in and love God? Sounds like you'd give in to the pressure and submit.
You're right, you'd still have the choice. However, it would be a very clear choice between life and death. Only those who hate God would refuse life, but they would still have to believe in his existence.
Going back to my original point, the decision would be a no-brainer for people who are open to the idea of God. But believing only when the evidence is undeniable is not in your best interest.
Faith becomes meaningless if certainty is forced. Scripture is clear that God rewards those who seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Jesus commends those who believe without seeing (John 20:29).
God provides sufficient evidence for those who genuinely seek him, but not the kind of proof that would eliminate disbelief. We must walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
God wants everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). There are promises for those who find him and accept his will in this life.
I hope this doesn't come across as too preachy. I just want to share the things I have found.
