I'm focused on making sure that more Virginia students have the same kind of opportunities.

I spent time at Southside Senior Citizens Center in Brunswick to discuss how we can best serve and support our older neighbors. Senior centers help Virginians stay healthy, active, & connected to their communities as they age. I’m committed to keeping them strong for the future.

Forecast for today? Severe storms with the possibility of tornadoes. During a tornado, seeking refuge in a vehicle or under an overpass is NOT safe. If you are outside during a tornado warning, the best option is to drive to a designated shelter, basement or safe room.

11:47am-An initial round of severe/tornado warned storms continues to push east toward the I-95 metros in the next 1-2 hrs. Expect gusts 50-70 mph along this line along w/ embedded tornadoes. There should be a lull w/ more storms this aft-eve as the cold front pushes in.

Severe weather likely today. The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the mountain region under a Slight Risk, the foothills in an Enhanced Risk and the Piedmont in a Moderate Risk. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat, tornadoes are also possible.

Low clouds and passing showers are expected this morning. As these stratus clouds erode & a strong cold front approaches from the west, strong to severe t'storms are expected. The more potent cells could produce 70-80 mph wind gusts & even a few tornadoes. #MDwx #VAwx #DCwx #WVwx
