I'm sure I could walk into any of the areas you mentioned and have no issues and probably get some good food. However, you are conflicting what is an argument about unvetted illegal migration with Islam. Once again indirectly lumping everyone that has an issue with the undiverse nature of these areas, other issues with migration such as 2022 where the top origin was Albania. Grooming gangs news and reporting suppressed. Terrorism concerns after the past 20 years. You lump everyone in with the 'far right'. And then there's the argument that some of the countries of origin have cultural issues that are never talked about as a concern of happening here. FGM Rape Murder They all happen in countries where these people come from, yet you never talk about that. You never talk about protecting the women and children that suffer more in those countries. Too preoccupied protecting fighting aged men that we have zero knowledge of.

@ianrich15813274 Wise words, well spoken. It seems that we're from similar backgrounds & share similar experiences. A pity that so many people get swayed by racist rhetoric from self-serving politicians, activists & large sections of the media. "History repeats itself. Has to. No one listens".

There were many Muslims in the Lancashire town I grew up in during the 1960s & 70s, largely textile workers that our mills needed. Even more in the Leed's suburb I lived in as a student. Since retiring, I've travelled widely around the UK, I do freelance writing, visiting Muslim areas in Bradford, Keighley, Luton, Rochdale & many others. In over 60 years I have never felt fear or intimidation from Muslims, far from it; often warmth, welcome & good humour. Of course, there are some despicable people who have done terrible things who identify as Muslims, just as there are in every type of community. To be honest, I've felt the greatest sense of fear & insecurity amongst young, often drunk, white men, especially on public transport & at night in some town centres. I don't see Muslim youngsters engaging in the kinds of anti-social behaviour that 'some' white kids do. That's my experience, in my view Islamophobia is utterly disgusting & needs calling out. Judge individuals, never entire groups, that is a road to very dark places that I'll never walk. I'm sorry if this angers or offends anyone, but this is a forum for sharing opinions & experiences; these are mine formed over 6 decades. I am saddened & concerned by how much traction some Islamophobes get on here, from Lowe to Yaxley-Lenon, they don't yet speak for most of us & we must never let their hate poison & divide us.

She has occasionally referenced China, but her focus is on Western countries. My entire argument about climate change is that it exists, albeit we have limited good data - say from 1880 maybe? But that focusing efforts on reducing cumulative historic emissions outputs is silly. That would mean going beyond what we have done now - and making the country even less competitive in manufacturing and literally everything. The UK won't be able to miraculously generate 12 hour batteries that can cope with 35 GW of demand. So we are crippling ourselves by pushing for Net Zero instead of offsetting some baseload with a higher percentage of Nuclear. So instead we end up with a lobscewed mix of renewables vs ageing assets, a strange wholesale market system, grid constraints from operators wanting a piece of the best land still available (Scottish wind, English solar) And a completely destroyed energy market.

Greta Thunberg has warned that 40C heatwaves in the UK are “only the beginning” and says Britain’s leaders have “their heads completely buried in the sand” regarding climate change. Her comments follow revelations that Labour ministers met fossil fuel industry lobbyists more than 500 times during the party’s first year in power, while Labour MPs took tens of thousands of pounds in donations from oil and gas lobbyists. The activist, 23, was speaking as the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued a rare red heat-health alert for the first time since 2022, with temperatures forecast to reach as high as 40C later this week. “This is what experts have been warning about for decades,” Thunberg told Metro. “This is unfortunately only the beginning.” She added: “We know that the climate crisis is here and now, and not a faraway threat in the future, and those suffering the most are the ones who have contributed the least to cause it.” The red alert – which indicates heat that is life-threatening for even the healthy population – covers the East and West Midlands, London, and southern and east England from 1am on Wednesday until 11pm on Thursday. The heatwave could also disrupt transport infrastructure, food and water access, energy supplies and force businesses to close, UKHSA warned. Thunberg said: “What is most concerning about this is not only that we continuously shatter heat records and destabilise the entire biosphere way faster than models have been predicting, but that it is not treated as the existential crisis it is in media and politics. “The UK’s responsibility for the climate crisis cannot be overstated, still its leaders continue acting as if there was no tomorrow.” Research by UKHSA published last year found that as well as the elderly, the very young and people with pre-existing medical conditions, people experiencing poverty, overcrowded housing or difficult economic circumstances are also at far greater risk in the heat. Thunberg’s comments were echoed by climate scientists, including professor Friederike Otto of Imperial College London, who said politicians had failed to respond to the first red heat-health alert in 2022. “Our first 40C day was supposed to be a wake-up call, but clearly someone hit snooze,” she said.

So the hills Andrew Manning is willing to die on. Arguing whether the helicopter was state funded or not. And climate change. You seem to have a very one sided view on the world. I wonder what other one sided views you might have. Your twitter is boring. You have had it since 2011 yet every comment I skimmed through was ill thought out and stupid. It's like listening to the stupid uncle try and make a point about something...anything. That man on the left is Shakeel Ahmad Bhat. The Indian police raided his home and brutally assaulted his sister, they threw her out of the second story window, breaking her spine, which resulted in years of unimaginable suffering before she passed away. They always use his photos, but they never tell his story, because they want to portray Muslims as some savages who are always angry for no reason, and who wants to kill and destroy everything. The reality is the opposite. Muslims are the only ones brave enough to stand up, they are the only ones fighting for the truth and justice.

Your entire argument is idiotic. We are only allowed to talk about problems with certain religions and countries when it suits you. You call out others blaming Islam when that isn't even the fucking debate - indirectly lumping everyone in the middle that HAS A PROBLEM WITH MASS ILLEGAL MIGRATION with the far right. Protestant vs Catholic from the 70-90s? Sure ostracize them. Islamic terror in Europe since 2000? NO ISSUES. Grooming gangs? NO ISSUES. The rapid expansion of Islam in Britain? NO ISSUES. There are more than 2 billion Muslims in the world. That's roughly 1 in every 4 people on Earth. Islam is among the fastest-growing major religions, and its presence continues to expand across every continent. By the middle of this century, Muslims are expected to make up a significantly larger share of the global population. Islam is not disappearing. It is present in every corner of the world and continues to grow. So perhaps the better path is understanding, respect, and friendship. Because we're not going anywhere - we're growing everywhere.

Most Muslim people are normal people. However, you never mention the terror attacks that have caused havoc in Europe since 2000. We made a fuss when it was Protestant and Catholics, why not Muslims?
