Okay, an actual expert here. This should never have happened. These things can fly with half their engines, and they recently had an upgrade. This is not like getting your oil changed. Aircraft maintenance on these boys is insane. They are called Stratofortresses because it should be almost impossible to crash. My instinct is that Trump, Musk, and Hegseth are directly responsible for this. Musk's DOGE program gutted and effectively destroyed many regulatory and monitoring agencies that are RESPONSIBLE for making sure these planes don't crash. Hegseth has effectively ignored essential military maintenance, and Trump made all of this possible.
