Even though I knew his death was coming, as he told us it would, I still can’t believe he has died.
Rest in peace, good and great man, rest in peace.

@tessfalor @AllyTransforms @KetoCarnivore @TuckerGoodrich @bengreenfield Well of course!!!! How would I forget you? 😜
English

@RayCronise @AllyTransforms @KetoCarnivore @TuckerGoodrich @bengreenfield Hey Ray! I somehow missed this. Do you remember me? I worked with you back in 2013 and yes, it did work.
I want to know how I can adaptively subconsciously restrict, though! It's not fair! Haha.
English

They restrict, but it’s at the adaptive subconscious level. When I control an individual’s intake, no matter their incoming weight, it’s trivial to make them lose or gain. What’s more difficult is unwinding a lifetime of habits and traditions associated with food to build a new, flavorful, fulfilling plate. Anyone can do that. Anyone can dismiss it as too difficult. It’s far easier and enjoyable than the treatments for diet induced chronic disease.
English

@AllyTransforms @KetoCarnivore @TuckerGoodrich @RayCronise @bengreenfield Diet was HUGE for me, & the tweaks can matter A LOT, but I always wondered, "why do I have to try so hard? Why can my husband eat whatever he wants and still feel good?"
I thought, "all those people who are eating whatever they want must actually not feel as good as they say"
English

We are creatures of habit & appetite isn’t a trait of negative selection in a calorie scarce world. tweaks invoke a halo of interrupted habits and work effortlessly for a while. Until the new diet is equally convenient, familiar, and enjoyable to the diet that casued the problem, we don’t have much of a choice. One or more of those will likely dominate our plate.
English

@AllyTransforms @KetoCarnivore @TuckerGoodrich @RayCronise @bengreenfield But I see it ... a lot. I think it's possible to be healthy and feel great and not have to do all the tweaks.
Why doesn't everyone have to go keto or carnivore to feel good? Why can some people have lots of Paleo carbs and still feel great, while others can't?
English

@alan_ward_koeck @GoZeroG At least, this is what the registration history suggests:

I believe this is the same plane that would be converted into G Force One for @GoZeroG 20 years later

@DJSnM @JustinGentle @pentaquarky @GoZeroG It was quite the ordeal. In a mature bureaucracy there’s a rule against everything… the best story is how we pulled of The Matrix sequel flights before we were part 121. All legit. FAA helped us make it happen.
English

@RayCronise @JustinGentle @pentaquarky @GoZeroG Part 121 isn’t rocket science, it’s way more complicated.
English

I do have a very cool video about my flight with @GoZeroG but I need to clear some things first, but here's some screenshots of the part of the plane you never see in the other videos:

English

@JustinGentle @DJSnM @pentaquarky @GoZeroG That was an advantage, but the reason was that it was similar to KC-135 (B707), 727s were all being moved into cargo (cycle time), and the biggest hurdle was the FAA allowing it, not the optimal aircraft. We talked with many 121 operators from UPS to small single plane ops.
English

@DJSnM @pentaquarky @GoZeroG My guess is the near centerline thrust with stabilizing aerodynamics from the engines mounted above the wings aids in their precise control of load factor?

@ppedrazzi Thanks. Have been entrenched in commercial space and off social media. Should pop back up soon in healthspan.
English

@RayCronise Thank you sir. I've been doing the am t-shirt walks. So far so good. Appreciate you sharing your explorations.
English

@RayCronise Getting serious about health & cold exposure again, do you still recommend high dose Melatonin in the evening?
English

@kevinnbass @_Z__ Kevin, I don’t hate you. I’ve not promoted ice baths. I’ve written about the impact of mild cold stress as part of system of impacts that may be beneficial. Cool, dark, still, and scarce vs chronic warm, bright, active, and abundant. bit.ly/WinterNeverCom…
English

@mandipbhangu @pashpally @PeterAttiaMD I don’t know about that, but mild cold stress does have a long term impact and in the hundreds of metabolisms I’ve measure, never seen a broken one. Chronic overnutrition is likely the biggest issue facing people that struggle. It’s the antithesis of dietary restriction.
English

@RayCronise @pashpally @PeterAttiaMD he goes extreme always like donating 3 units of blood in one go
English

This video is from Feb 2020 when a friend & I experimented with cold exposure therapy. Alas, it appears that my suffering was to no avail.
Read today's newsletter to learn why #coldexposuretherapy might not be as beneficial for health as it sounds: bit.ly/3Kgrjjz
English

@pashpally @PeterAttiaMD Yes. He fell into the extreme trap. I wrote about this a decade or more ago. Cool not cold. bit.ly/WinterNeverCom…
English

@PeterAttiaMD Isn’t it mild cold stress that has efficacy? Aren’t you doing this all wrong Peter? @RayCronise
English

@CameronRuggles @davidasinclair @washingtonpost Because it’s centered on cool not cold. There’s likely no advantage to extreme. With analogous dietary restriction without malnutrition, long term fasting (i.e >36 hours vs decreased meal frequency) isn’t necessary for one to see benefit. Contrast showers suffice #mildcoldstress
English

@davidasinclair @washingtonpost @RayCronise I'm fond of the winter hypothesis but how would you explain people who live on or near the equator?
They likely aren't experiencing much cold, and seem perfectly healthly.
English

Are ice-cold showers good for you? 🚿❄️ Matt Fuchs @washingtonpost tried it for two months. Mentions our “Metabolic Winter Hypothesis” @RayCronise 🙏 washingtonpost.com/wellness/2022/…
English

@gah @Twitter Just needed a break from the noise. I did work some in commercial space with the reboot of @GoZeroG, but that wasn’t the reason. Even took @davidasinclair for a taste of weightlessness.

English

So here's my guess why we haven't seen @RayCronise on @twitter for a while: he's been sucked into some top secret business for some centibillionaire's space adventures.
English

@DarrenChamish Better probably isn’t the best word - different. Vaso constrict/dilate has benefits. It’s particularly good post workout to minimize soreness and decrease recovery time.
English

@RayCronise why is alternating hot/cold showers better than just cold for weight loss? Wouldn’t straight cold->colder internals?

@gah @GenoPalate “Starvation mode” = burn fat. Always. Lower the calorie intake the more that will come from meals already eaten and stored. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
English

Q: What is one diet misconception?
A: When trying to lose weight, lower the calories, the better. Why? A severe restriction in calories may cause the body to go into starvation mode, which slows your metabolism.
Read our full blog post on how to stop dieting. #eatsmarter
English

@gah @GenoPalate Yes. How exactly would that work? You mean the body doesn’t use it’s energy storage organ in times of no food? How would we evolve such a trait in a calorie scarce world? bit.ly/WinterNeverCom…
