@RayKrocsGhost Bro you are crashing out over this for no reason Jesus….

Nothing would bring me more joy than to see the Chargers in San Diego again

@othmkr @Tha_Frederation That fact that you think it’s a deal to have no revenue beyond 11 games a year, just because you’re paying $1 a year, shows you’re not very smart. $94m a year when you paid $635m to move! Big brain business.
English

@RayKrocsGhost @Tha_Frederation They pay $1/year in rent, so much money!!!
You’re not very smart lol
English

@Tha_Frederation It’s not hard to break a lease. Especially when you’re paying $1 rent. That penalty would dwarf what they could make at their own place.
English

@RayKrocsGhost They are contractually locked in until 2039 and I highly doubt they will not renew when their value has steadily increased since the move. LA is a shithole compared to SD but it will always attract people for sports and other events better than SD
English

@Tha_Frederation @andyyyymicccc It’s not huge. Even kinda. The league became more valuable so the became more valuable. A team that moves to the largest media market in a new stadium should sky rocket. They got worse relative
English

@andyyyymicccc @RayKrocsGhost Franchise value increased from 1.5 to damn near 6 mill. It might not be the same in comparison to league value but that’s a huge jump no matter how you try to rationalize it
English

@andyyyymicccc @Tha_Frederation This. Their value only increases because the league value increased. Teams that move to the biggest market media market, in new stadiums should not lose value compared to other teams in their league.
English

@Tha_Frederation @RayKrocsGhost And they dropped to the 25th ranked valued franchise in the NFL lmfao, like I said, the lost value relative to the rest of the league
English

@othmkr @Tha_Frederation - The LA market means nothing to The Chargers. The stadium is consistently no more than 50% Charger Fans. Closer to 75% more often.
- They pay rent at SoFi. They don’t own it. And can’t capitalize on anything outside of their games.
Read a book. On business.
English

@othmkr @Tha_Frederation - Moving wouldn’t “tank”. Spanos already devalued his club relative to the league and especially teams that move. Especially to the biggest market in the league.
- The city does want them. Spanos wanted more public money. A new owner, who isn’t cheap will easily cover the diff

@sdut San Diego is a dying market for baseball...among other things. The government doesn't have legal standing to force a private business owner to go bankrupt.

@Umpn4Life @jswan11WBCnats Internal scrutiny without liability is just talking shit. Ive consistently seen top performing umps left off WS and even playoff crews.
English

@RayKrocsGhost @jswan11WBCnats They don’t.
I train in the offseason with a MLB umpire. I’ve seen his scrutiny and many discussions with him about it. It’s all about metrics when it comes to playoffs. Bank on it. I’ve seen it.😎
English

This is exactly the point.
ABS is not the strike zone.
The box on the screen is not the strike zone.
This is a major issue. Openly flawed.
It is not umpire incompetence at any point.
Rob Friedman@PitchingNinja
Umpire incompetence or a Rulebook/ABS Mismatch issue? 🤔 This pitch may have been both: -a Strike according the rulebook strike zone (3 dimensional/starting at the front of the plate), and -a Ball, according to ABS (2 dimensional/measured at the middle of the plate).
English

@Umpn4Life @jswan11WBCnats So why do seniority umpires get high profile games over those with better metrics?
English

@RayKrocsGhost @jswan11WBCnats He held a racial discrimination case over MLBs head and tied up in court for many years. He was an exception, not the rule.
if you had any clue how scrutinized they are by the powers that be…
English

@Mariano04230215 @jswan11WBCnats Their refusal on accountability & improvement brought us here. There will be an adjustment period. For umps & the system. I agree, home plate has depth. It’s not a window pane. We’re in v1. But we’re here because bad HP umping became commonplace.
English

@RayKrocsGhost @jswan11WBCnats The point is that baseball fucked these umpires and good. The strike zone was 3 dimensional that’s how the umpires call pitches. Now it’s 2 dimensional so what do you expect? The machine is looking at something different than reality.
English

@MerrillMVPszn @TooMuchMortons_ So, he has an approach that we were begging for all last year. It hasn’t worked for 2.5% of the season. A 2.5% where hitters are especially more behind and you want heads to roll? Kick rocks, casual.
English

Padres have been one of the most aggressive swinging teams thus far need to clean up the plate discipline

Giannis Auntiegotapoodle@TooMuchMortons_
Offense gotta step up they’ve been pretty bad to start the season
English

@Umpn4Life @jswan11WBCnats Fair. But even trade unions have standards. Angel Hernandez couldn’t have kept being a teamster with those eyes.
English

@jswan11WBCnats This isn’t most jobs. 15% can swing a game completely. Also, in what other sports are boundaries subjective? 1st downs being longer for some crews? Suggest you scroll through previous games of ump scorecards for some perspective. x.com/umpscorecards?…
English

@RayKrocsGhost Even the “worst” get it right 85pct, most jobs that’s an exemplary rate.
These are the best in the world and they are getting roasted for missing pitches by fractions of an inch on that velocity and movement.
English

@jswan11WBCnats Incompetent is a strong word choice . Ignorant? Obtuse? Some of them are bad at their jobs. Their union does nothing to hold them accountable. The strike zone should not be subjective when pitchers have been working their whole life to hit certain spots.
English

@RayKrocsGhost You simply cannot call the best umpires on the planet incompetent
English

@JacobBSpeaks Oh no, a professional would rather quit than adapt and evolve. It’s so tragic when those people leave.
English

The umpires that quit because of the use of ABS are the umpires we don’t want in the game anyway.
Finally there is a system to hold them accountable, and if they were smart, they would utilize it to improve their craft.
Baseball is built on failure.
Chris Rose Sports@ChrisRoseSports
Trev thinks ABS is going to cause umps to say they're done working behind the plate
