Just get the deal done with Brandon Aubrey.
If this was other drafts maybe I’d be more enticed to have the pick, but this team has a legitimate advantage because of Aubrey. With some of the red zone issues they had last year, it would be a shame to lose it

Source: As expected, the Cowboys have placed the second-round tender on Brandon Aubrey. It’s $5.8 million. Another team could make an offer to Aubrey, but Dallas would have a chance to match it. If the Cowboys didn’t, they would receive that team’s second-round draft pick. Aubrey told reporters last week: “Obviously the tender is what the Cowboys have talked about, and that’s a good problem to have. It’s a good amount of money. It’s a big pay raise for me from before. But it’s not the ideal for any player. We’ll see what happens. I’m excited to be in this position. It’s an opportunity for me just to be in this position, so thankful for that.” The Cowboys have said they made Aubrey a contract offer before last season that would make him the highest-paid kicker in the game. That is currently Kansas City’s Harrison Butker at $6.4 million per season.

@waltmiller64 @Lazerus @cjcompton11 So, the entire 2023 season he didn't perform until backups came in even though he sat out more 4th qtr minutes than yds Hurts accumulated last season because they were stomping MFers. Got it.

@RealJDDrake @Lazerus @cjcompton11 Dak lost a game where his defense allowed 19. The larger issue is that Dak cannot perform until backups are playing and can’t maintain drives in the first halves of games to keep the defense off the field.
