If Silver announced today that he’s changing the MVP/All-NBA minimum from 65 to 62 (20 games missed max), would anyone object? Just admit you made the number too high and fix it on the fly. Cade missing out on All-NBA would be outrageous.

I agree. But we don’t need to make a rule for it. The best players deserve the best recognition. If a player averages 35 points and plays 64 games he shouldn’t be penalized for it. We’re going to see the most durable players get awards rather than the best because of a pointless rule

Sucks 65-game rule is going to cost guys MVP votes and All-NBA Teams.... But it's not the League's fault, or Adam Silver's, or the media's. Guys who miss out can blame their peers for years of sitting out and not taking the regular season seriously.

i have not spoken on the 65 game rule because i’m ultimately not super passionate about it, but this cade situation is the first thing that’s really pushed me over the edge. he’s had an all-NBA season and absolutely shouldn’t be penalized for a collapsed lung with 14 games left.
