Hitters are programmed wrong. During slumps, the first thing many look at is the swing, thinking it’s broken. The first thing they SHOULD look at is the pitches they are swinging at. The swing is built to hit pitches in the strike zone. Few swings work on balls out of the zone.

Let’s learn from golfers-their salary is TBD each week based on results. They choose a game day coach(caddy) who focuses on strategy/mental skills. They DON’T use their swing coach to caddy. Train mechanics-Compete with strategy and mindset. In ⚾️, your inner voice is your caddy.

Young players: get around successful people in baseball to learn from them. Find a way to chat w/someone who has accomplished something you want to accomplish. Hanging around guys who complain about their genes & have never thrown >75mph? Expect to be a guy who throws 75mph, too.

Hopefully he meant re-signed. Or he’s really happy about leaving!

@CoachLisle Talking about setup and plate coverage is key to being able to do this and have success. Setup in the wrong area of the box and this style would be disastrous though.

Seeing more and more great hitters like Turner, K. Davis and more “stepping in the bucket” and landing front foot 65-90 degrees to allow some separation & hip/torso velocity/rotation. But notice how well his shoulders stay closed in his stride (where most young hitters struggle)

Kids, the vast majority of successful ML hitters never posted gaudy strike out numbers on their way to the big leagues. They worked hard to have consistent, quality at bats in the minors, in order to move up the ladder and eventually get the call to the SHOW!
