Grateful to @IainDale for a very thoughtful interview last night, allowing me to share my thoughts on the attack in Manchester. Beyond the initial shock, this should absolutely serve as a clarion call for all to double down on our efforts to challenge the spread of extremism.

Yesterday’s attack on a Manchester synagogue is a stark reminder of the threats our communities face. Our founder, @travisfrain, spoke with @IainDale on @LBC @LBCNews about resilience, solidarity, and support for those affected. Watch a clip of the interview below.

Currently in Birmingham sharing my story with students to raise awareness of radicalisation & extremism, and just seen the awful scenes unfolding back home- with methodology all too similar to the attack I was involved in. Dreadful to see, and just brings it all rushing back.

Last month, we were hosted in Parliament by @Matt_VickersMP, Shadow Minister for Crime, Policing, and Fire, for a roundtable to explore how Governments can better support victims of terrorism to become changemakers and positive advocates in the fight against violent extremism.

If you watched the recent debate on support for terror survivors, you may have heard @AndyMacNaeMP reference the Survivors' Charter and its eight key principles. Created by @Survivors_a_t the Charter outlines what effective, compassionate support for survivors should look like.

This opportunity to help guide and support the APPG’s work is a powerful platform to make that vision a reality. We’ll be sharing updates and insights as the APPG continues its work. Stay connected and help us keep survivor voices front and centre.

This APPG brings together cross-party voices to explore how terrorism affects individuals, communities, and wider society, and crucially, how Parliament can do more to support those impacted. This marks a significant step forward in addressing gaps.
