Twana Jamal was described as the “godfather” of the migrant camps in France. He was convicted and sentenced to five years in prison. Now, he has been found running two dodgy vape shops in Leicestershire. He has no place in our country. He should be detained and deported.

92% of reported crimes go unsolved. Too often, police are handed clear leads and fail to follow them up. That must change. Crime must have consequences.

Starmer oversaw more Channel crossings than any previous Prime Minister. Burnham’s plan is more of the same. You don’t stop the boats without a deterrent. The Conservatives have a plan: leave the ECHR, detain illegal arrivals and deport them. That’s how you stop the boats.

Dodgey vape shops are a scourge on our high streets and line the pockets of organised criminals. The Conservatives have backed stronger powers to shut them down and keep them shut. Those who profit from crime have no place on our high streets.

The first duty of any Government is to protect the public. Labour have abandoned that duty by releasing some of the country’s most dangerous offenders early. We opposed it then. We oppose it now. Rapists, paedophiles and Killers should not be released early. End of.

My thoughts are with the five Metropolitan Police officers injured in today’s incident on the River Thames. I wish them all a full and speedy recovery and thank the emergency services who responded so quickly.

Behind bars but still in business. Labour has lost control of our prisons. Only the Conservatives have a plan to take back control of our prisons and put public safety first.

I was proud to stand alongside Andrew Harper’s family & colleagues in their campaign for Harper’s Law. Andrew Harper gave his life protecting the public. The prospect of his killers walking free early is an insult to them and every police officer who puts themselves in harm’s way. Labour must not undermine his legacy by releasing Andrew's killers early.

While Andy Burnham’s cabinet are joking about letting criminals out of prison early, Conservatives are listening to victims and will continue to fight this disgusting policy.

I welcome action to cut the cost of energy which is too high because of Ed Miliband’s policies. But the question is how will Burnham fund all his new policies without putting up taxes or borrowing even more. Until yesterday, Darren Jones was in charge of DigitalID and the Chief Secretary to the PM. So if he tells people the DigitalID programme was unfunded, he will know what he’s talking about. It’s only one day into Burnham’s Government and already the explanations are falling apart. You can’t use the funding from an unfunded programme to pay for cheaper bills. Conservatives have set out our fully funded Cheap Power Plan that will cut family energy bills by £200, including by cutting their VAT. We are paying for that by getting Britain drilling and scrapping Net Zero policies. John Healey should take a look at it and steal our ideas.

This week in Parliament, I’ve: 🏍️ Called for more action and stronger powers to help our police tackle off-road bikes and e-bikes being used antisocially. 🏠 Called out overdevelopment and the Government’s new housing targets, which are going to make matters worse. 🏥 Raised the fact that the Government is cutting 600 jobs at our local NHS trust, as well as the need for a new North Tees Hospital. 🚨 Debated action to tackle the threat of state-sponsored terrorism and the IRGC. 🚬 Raised the issue of dodgy vape shops and the individuals who run them. 👮🏻‍♂️ Called out Labour’s cuts to policing and organised crime units.
