I stopped using Communities the same day they made it to where posts in them were put on the main timeline It was fun posting about something specific that people within a community were mutually interested in, not having to worry about my mutuals/followers being blasted with it It was a great feature that would've boosted overall usage and engagement on the platform, but it was mishandled to try to make it appeal to EVERYONE all the time.

Twitter/X is shutting down Communities on May 6th, due to “declining usage.” Users are being encouraged to share XChat links, which currently have a limit of 350 members per group chat.
