@LionmightMusic Bcz of that there were very few choices for people to pick upon. Now even if a game, better than Genshin impact in every possible way, releases it won't have Genshin's craze cuz now people have many choices and ofc "sunk cost fallacy" so genshin players won't try new games.

The success of Genshin Impact being attributed to the pandemic is such a cope of an argument.
There were other games that were released during the pandemic, but why didn't any of them succeed in terms of longevity and cultural impact?
It is simply because Hoyoverse created a great game, a great world, a great set of characters, great lore and excellent music to weave it all together. An artistic masterpiece of a game.
The pandemic simply spedrun the inevitable. But Genshin Impact would have been a massive success anyway without it.
