I want to make it clear to my newer followers and people who don't know me that well that I'm not comfortable with people replying to me shitting on certain people based on their identity which they cannot change. I have many friends who are gay/minorities/LGBTQ. If you're going to do it regardless I can't stop you, but keep it away from my posts. Here I criticize people based solely on their words and actions.

13. Exit 8 This movie was awesome. I didn't play the game before watching the movie, but I understood the general idea, and it definitely stands on it's own anyways. I'm also very much a sucker for "trapped in a room/situation" type of premises and this fits that niche perfectly. The first 20ish minutes did feel a lot like I was watching someone play a spooky video game, but EVERY time I thought it was about to get repetitive it'd throw a curveball out of nowhere and I'd be super interested. ESPECIALLY when we see a certain perspective switch halfway through and it gets real trippy. Which resulted in what is one of the saddest parts of the movie, and I did not expect it at all. There's a lot of abstract visuals here that leaves you thinking about what it meant, while also telling a fairly simple character story at it's core as we watch this guy's character development. I also REALLY dug how unique and stylistic the cinematography was, with it using a lot of long takes that go on for several minutes, but also knowing exactly when to cut too. It is very intentional. Very well done movie. Highly recommend.

12. Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc As "obviously" fake as Reze was at the beginning... I am ashamed to admit I'd 100% fall for it irl ngl 😭 I honestly don't have much to say about this movie because I genuinely absorbed half of it beforehand already through cultural osmosis just due to how loud the fandom is, but it was good. Reze's death in the last scene I think is the part that stook out the most to me as the most tragic. And it was pretty chilling that the entire movie she was essentially toying with Denji during that fight only for Makima to take her out near instantly. I also think they handled the comedy/slapstick moments better here, and I think I understand the tonal complaints about the first season a bit better now.
