@geek49203 Right. Sponsorship is certainly another discussion. But get people watching/attending and the sponsors will come. Good point of online ads though

@RightSidesOnly_ The real problem is that you don't have the Winston Sports Marketing geniuses with a $1 billion budget to promote the thing. And that the biz model (ads on the side of cars) was seriously hurt by online "Google" ads. And the slow death of CATV, which used to be cheap.

First thing #NASCAR needs to do to get the fans back on board: Lower admission prices. Why are tickets $135 if the stands will only be half full? My local NBA team has tickets for $12 some nights. Fill the stands first, then raise the prices.

@__brendino__ The actual value of something is what people are willing to pay for it. The box office value is not that currently. If people were reselling tickets, no box office, you would see what they’re actually worth.

@geek49203 But would this not be better LONG TERM for the tracks and the sport? Honestly. Would this not drive interest up? Then raise prices to reflect your new increased demand you’ve created?

@RightSidesOnly_ Total Revenue = ave tix price X number of butts. Your math might work, not close to a sure thing. Add in the extra staff needed for bigger crowd, deduct added income from concessions stands. Oh, and to get that bigger crowd, lots of $$$ to get those $50 butts.

@RightSidesOnly_ I agree, ticket prices are too high. Now to watch NASCAR, a person is required to subscribe to all kinds of streaming services. Nobody knows where the races are being broadcast anymore.

@RightSidesOnly_ I can only get to this one or Michigan, and thus is the only one I can get to with one of my good friends so honestly I would have payed whatever. However, another friend who isnt really into NASCAR is coming along and there is no chance he would have gone if it was over $50.

@geek49203 Prices should reflect the current demand in order to maximize potential. Every empty seat is a missed opportunity for the sport

@RightSidesOnly_ Why? Because $135 for half of stands is more total revenue than what $50 tix would bring in? Price isn't the issue -- 10-15 years ago a MIS family could expect to spend $1000+ for an RV in the infield experience, and MIS still sold out 150k seats twice a year.

@RightSidesOnly_ I want less kansas', and less michigans'... more short tracks, more 1 off events. Save the fan favorites for the playoffs

@RightSidesOnly_ Sure, because he is showing some transparency whether we want his take on it or not. But he is also a team owner for a team he doesnt drive for. Too much influence wielding that no driver has ever had, including the lawsuit.

@RightSidesOnly_ Wild idea: race within a race. Let the -1 lap cars compete for something at the end. And let them race out their final lap (non overtime)... maybe a 5 point award? 2nd wild idea: Pick a track to establish a 3 wide launch, restart.

@RightSidesOnly_ @TXMotorSpeedway Just two years ago I was able to take my family to Bristol for $50 a piece and $10 per kid. Now adult tickets on the “family deal” are $90. It’s insanity. Not to mention the 3.5 hr ride to get there. Gas expenses. And lodging if we stay the night. Food. It’s a mini one day vacay.

@Michael95494331 How is it economic ignorance if people aren’t attending? I don’t care about paying that price, but casuals and new fans are not. As shown in attendance and viewership data. The “market value” is what someone’s willing to pay. Not what price the box office picks.

Economic ignorance. Market value sets ticket prices. Stop demanding artificial reductions.

Exactly. Nascar is built on sponsorship. Get more fans at races. Give sponsors more opportunity to activate in person and build value. B2C sponsorship is finally growing again. Lowing ticket prices could send it into overdrive.

@RightSidesOnly_ Organize cross platform events... indy/nascar weekend double header. Chase F1 with a follow up weekend after all 3 US races. Let the fans see the better product on the same circuit. End stage cautions. Enable alternate tire compound for strategy.

@MountainHsky Hamlins pod has brought in more new fans than any marketing nascar themselves have done

@RightSidesOnly_ Push hamlin off the grid. Hes got far too many things to say on his podcast, and conflicting interests on the field. Stop trying to make Wallace a star, the face of the sport can not be a DEI spokesperson, not with this audience. Find a way to get Roger penske more involved

@RightSidesOnly_ Not really. TV viewership down. Attendance at tracks is down. NASCAR is just not very popular anymore. I used to watch every race, I seldom watch the races anymore. It is just not interesting or exciting anymore. It's boring. Too many silly rules and regulations.

@7p9dqv4nrh I’ve done that before too. Unfortunately I’ve lost access to my college email. If that wasn’t an option, would you pay $140 or just stay home?

@MountainHsky The broadcast does need help. Agree the car sucks. But 1.5 mile tracks is nascar. The racing in the trucks tonight was awesome. We have to find a way to deliver that product on Sunday for sure.

@RightSidesOnly_ I don't disagree. But the current state of nascar is dogshit. Broadcast is literally Toyota biased and mandatory OeM favoritism every 5 minutes. The current car is trash. Headlining stars would not have been stars 20 years ago, too vanilla. Too many generic 1.5 mile tracks too

@ThunderdomeJosh Same, but casuals/new fans don’t feel the same. And the number of people who do is trending down each year since 2014. Supported by attendance and viewership data.

@RightSidesOnly_ Im not sure ANY major sporting will trend downward in any price just like our groceries 🤣🤣 All good though. Id pay 200 cause live racing is just too good and I only get it once a year 🤙🤙🤙🤙

@loststatew86691 You don’t think the downstream effect of more butts in seats would result in more TV viewers long term?

@RightSidesOnly_ Ticket sales are not the issue. Losing TV viewers is the problem. That is where NASCAR's revenue comes from, not ticket sales.
