Because once your core gets chilled it will lower your blood supply to your hands. An alternative to Nordic gloves are tactical shooting gloves which are nice for photography

(v) Depending on conditions and glove thickness, check aperture and speed occasionally, as fat fingers can inadvertently make undesired changes. 2/2
