looking at going to Edinburgh for work... I can only buy single tickets and they are either 1. really expensive and restricted to that train or 2. really REALLY expensive - £200 for an off-peak single journey. Am I just out of touch with the cost of trains now?

@amsterdammed You have to book way in advance to get any value for your travel. Consider £200 not so much as a Norwich/London ticket is about £66 & that is about 120 miles...

Feeling the digital frustrations of ‘enshitification’ today. Friend got tickets for @allianz_stad only as I have not got a smart phone it seems impossible for me to attend. They require all adults to have a mobile phone with an application

@HStiles1 At work they are requiring line managers to have the staff rota management system (for approving annual leave, recording sickness etc) on our personal phone, linked to our personal email address! If that’s not a data breach waiting to happen…

@PhDVoice @PostdocVoice I sat in the sun today and read a novel. I can’t remember when I last relaxed on a weekend but one of my cats has been very sick and my brain was tired tired tired today. And the sun came out which doesn’t happen that often in my part of NW England.
