Another is for advertisers.
Because advertisers still control the internet platforms.
And they aren't fully dumb, dead internet theory has become popular.
So how do you prove your users are "human" with "real human interests" and "human activity"? You get them to give up ID.
Another part of it is tracking.
Another part is information control.
But most of it is about money, censorship, and narrative.

There's some nuance to this.
If you prompted it yourself, not a fan of that, but the fact you're paying a real artist to do it softens it a bit. Net positive, can live with that.
If you just found it, I don't care. It already existed and you're taking a bad thing and turning it into a good thing by using it to support an artist.

Do you think it's wrong to use ai to show an artist a reference for something that you want to commission them and pay them for? I generally am curious of this. example- I want this type of pose but I can only find anime ai art for ref.. Is it wrong to use that as ref ??
