Our mission is to improve the public image, effectiveness and profitability of the retail industry in South Carolina.

South Carolina just took a major step to crack down on organized retail crime—making ORC a felony, increasing penalties, and giving prosecutors the tools to take down entire crime networks. I’ve fought this fight in SC and nationally, co-leading a bipartisan, 38-state push to demand stronger federal action. ORC is fueling drug & human trafficking, and these violent theft rings must be stopped. Thank you to Rep. Jeff Johnson, Solicitor Stumbo & the @SCRetailAssn for standing with us today. We’re ready to enforce this law and protect SC businesses, workers & shoppers!

🚨 SC House Republican Caucus is CRACKING DOWN on organized retail crime! No more soft-on-crime policies. No more revolving door for criminals. Today we passed H.3523, which gives law enforcement the tools to take down smash-and-grab gangs, punish repeat offenders, and protect South Carolina businesses. This is what real law and order leadership looks like. SC House Republicans are delivering on our Pillars of Progress—prioritizing public safety, standing with law enforcement, and ensuring criminals face real consequences.

Lt. Governor @PamelaEvette and @SCDEWinfo Executive Director William Floyd visited Greenville’s The Home Depot this afternoon along with @wyffnews4 anchor Jane Robelot to learn about its youth employment opportunities and career development pathways as part of the Lt. Governor’s Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders initiative. They heard from leadership and store associates about the skills younger employees are developing by working there and even got to wear the well-known orange aprons! This trip was just one of many our agency and the Lt. Governor plan to conduct across the state in the coming months as we speak with employers and their young employees about soft skills, the benefits of joining the workforce as a young person, and more.
