Plenty of kids will be walking to school this year. We've got some tips to help all kids arrive safely to school and back home.

Car seats adjust to meet the needs of growing kids. Remember to regularly check and adjust your child's car seat to keep up with those growth spurts. Review your user manual for information on correct fit and seat adjustments. #KeepEachOtherSafe #TechsRule #carseat @NSCsafety

Impaired driving isn’t limited to vehicles with wheels. As you launch on your favorite river or lake, remember alcohol can be a factor in boating accidents too. Drunk boating is drunk driving — designate a sober driver on the water and on the road.

It's grilling season! Before firing up your grill, consider these tips: ✅ Don't place grills near walls, railings, decorations, plants & umbrellas ✅ Never grill indoors or in confined areas ✅ Keep a fire extinguisher nearby ✅ Never leave a grill hot unattended

Kids can gain access to a car but sometimes it's difficult for them to get out. Make sure to keep your doors locked at all times. #noheatstroke

It's that time of year! Make sure your kids wear their helmets while riding, skating and scooting around town. They just might get "caught" by local law enforcement and ticketed with a certificate for a free small cone from @DairyQueen!

Going boating this weekend? Did you know that 84% of the people who died by drowning in boating-related incidents were not wearing a life jacket? Everyone in the boat should wear a life jacket. It's a simple thing to do that will keep the whole family safe. #watersafetyawareness

It's the holiday weekend and we anticipate many people to be out and about. A helpful reminder to remember that bicycles = vehicles! Know the rules of the road, obey all traffic laws, put away distractions and most importantly - share the roadways. #ShareTheRoadSaveALife

March is Illinois Poison Prevention Month. It can be quite easy for little ones to get access to grandparents' medication. Keep it in child-resistant containers and up high and out of reach.
