Gary Bettman says they’ve been in discussion with the Friedkin family for two years on exploring potential expansion in Houston or Austin. Both cities would require new arena. The NHL will decide over time whether or not to move forward as they explore it and in which market.

The Commissioner has been adamant that “if” there is expansion, the price tag starts at a minimum of 2 Billion Dollars.
