Sir, you are right on many fronts. As a child Botswana looked to Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) for life's basics and luxuries. In fact, even post-independence the education system established during Smith's era was enviable and many Batswana parents enrolled kids into Zimbabwe boarding schools. 🙏🤷‍♀️🙏 Truth is, even with the current conditions, Botswana's economy is far too small to sustain the influx. So, in the end neither the citizens nor Zimbabweans could have been saved by the arrangement. Ironically, given Botswana's small population relative to Zimbabwe's potential in mining, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing industries as well as internal market, that country is more likely to sustain the collective needs. But first it must lift itself by the bootstraps. 😢 It's true Botswana MPs spoke with one voice, but before that it was the electorate in the border villages who made their voices heard directly @OfficialMasisi citing problems associated with the absences of social safeguards against human influx. Parlaiment had no choice. 🤔 What is tragic is that post Zimbabwe's elections, our leaders did not take the opportunity to get to the root cause of Zimbabwe's problems. They falsely assumed eliminating passports can rid the region of an economic problem. 🙅🤷‍♀️ Nevertheless, kudos to the man and woman in the street because, (ironically), having become economic refugees, Zimbabwe's human capital sustains much of the SMEs sector and creates jobs in al @SADC_News countries and not at home as they should. But they do so under tremendous personal and family scarifies as they try and balance their needs in asylum with holding it together at home. 😢🇧🇼🇿🇲🇿🇼🇿🇦🇳🇦🇲🇿

The parliamentarian was saved by his quick thinking of recording the incident on Facebook Live which broadcast it to all his followers. @nickmangwana supports and defends the person (state security agent) filmed abducting the parliamentarian on a day after the announcement of the murder of another abducted opposition activist. What hope do ordinary Zimbabweans have when a Government spokesperson supports and defends the abduction of a parliamentarian?
